I've been playing it for 4-6 years now! And yeah, there are some hard songs but most all are made with ranging difficulties for anyone to be able to attempt :)

Most videos I would say are 5-10+ star difficulties, as a new player you'd probably get used to playing at 0.1-2 stars to start out ^^
I'm only now starting to be able to complete 5 star songs myself after this many years

Well if you ever do decide to try playing I'd be happy to give some pointers :)

Probably recommend some songs I thought were nice breaching points in difficulties(a song you could keep making attempts at till being able to pass it to learn the rhythm/style behind it that in learning well would probably help you along with other songs that use the same styles)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qB_4lsQZ76s
For example the lowest difficulty for this song(not shown in this video) still uses a good amount of trills that it's good for learning
Trills are the notes you press super fast one after the other, usually layered on top of each other- the notes are too fast to use one button to click so you would switch between if using the base controls, "z" and "x"- your pointer finger on x and your middle finger on z or however you feel comfortable + in settings you can chose different buttons

Also if you happen to own a tablet it would probably help a lot to learn the game using that, you can use mouse or touch pad too but touch pad is near impossible at higher difficulties and mouse while possible is a lot harder to maneuver across the screen accurately with, though as someone who uses a mouse I can say it's definitely fine to use in higher difficulties + I've seen pros switch over to mouse to mess around and do pretty alright in their max difficulty songs if not as good as when they use a tablet
