so i'm not sure if it's just my laptop/internet/browser, but every dozen or so nurtures, it tells me something went wrong and to refresh the page? i'm sorry for the ping, this just doesn't happen to me anywhere else except the nurturing grounds and i'm not sure if it's the site or something else going on

Do you have any addons or extensions that may be tampering with the page? That error sounds like a browser issue.

Make sure your browser is fully up to date as well.

Hi Krin, I have a problem. I was nurturing boosted pets and then I got one regular griffi essence, but I was nurturing boost pets, so I should won 2 of them, but I only have one in my inventory.

Thanks for all!

It doesn't work that way. Nurture Boosted pets just gives you 2 rolls. So you have 2 chances at getting an Essence.

Hey, everyone! So, I have been receiving a couple of concerns regarding the new Nurturing system and the new Nurture Boost feature. I can say that I, myself, have also had these same concerns having watched the data this past week since its release.

For those wondering, the concern is that it's essentially too 'powerful' at this point in time and there's a couple reasons for that. I did my best at the time to set up the system in a way that I thought would be balanced, however, I underestimated just how popular Nurturing would become overnight (and that's honestly a great thing!)

However, I think that some adjustments have to now be made to accommodate the massive increase in Nurturing activity in order to keep everything regarding the growth of Pets and the growth of Pets' Statistics from going out of control.

Firstly, a quick overview of what I'm seeing.

I don't really have very much data on Nurturing in general because there's just very little tracking available to me. The system was original, day one, code that has largely never been touched. Additionally, Scales themselves are also basically original, day one, code that hasn't been touched. So it's hard to really refer to all that much regarding them. But here's a couple things that I've looked at and conclusions I've been able to draw.

Nurturing rates are over 200% higher than average from what I can discern. In the past 24 hours alone, there have been over 250,000 Nurtures. I can't verify, but I'd feel pretty confident in saying that has to be a record by a long shot. The best I can do is kinda look at snapshots and it looks like pets averaged about ~15 Nurtures each and this week they are averaging about 35-40 each. That is a massive increase. Again though, this is fantastic! It's great to see so much activity through Nurturing.

Another thing I've been looking at is total Scale accumulation. Despite hundreds and hundreds of Nurture Boosts being purchased, the total amount of Scales is still increasing at a pretty decent rate currently. This is kind of a big problem mathematically because... more Nurture Boosted Pets = more Scales being awarded via the Bonus = more Scales to buy Nurture Boosts = even more Scales being awarded = etc, etc. It's basically snowballing and I can see that with the data available to me.

I can spend about 10 minutes a day Nurturing about 500 Pets and walk away with over 1,000 Scales. That is a massive amount of Scales to be earned in just 10 minutes.

So, all of that in mind, these are the changes I am proposing and I would like to hear some feedback before finalizing them:

-Increase required amount of Nurtures per Maturity Growth/Statistic Growth to 10 (From 5)
-Increase price of Nurture Boost to 25 Diamonds or 2,500 Scales
-Increase prices of Scale Shop by ~50%ish

The main reasoning for these changes is that for the past 7+ years, Scales have basically held the same value in regards to amount of time/effort. With the new Nurturing Grounds, the amount of time/effort to earn 1 Scale has significantly been reduced. And again, this is great. Mechanically, it's exactly what it should be.

However, this has made Scales/Nurtures way more plentiful than the past 7 years has been adjusted for. And so I think everything else needs to shift to accommodate the significant rate increase to maintain balance.
