I've looked at the hints and stuff, but I don't understand it very well. I understand what the buttons do, I just don't understand how to get them to beat the puzzle

I beat it in 599 moves! (isuck)

I'm currently trying to beat this puzzle and found this forum post linked on one about the entire Dungeon. The tips pictures by Flute are blurred out and I cannot for the life of me figure this puzzle out without tips.

basically:
You click a button and that row/column moves one towards the button you clicked, and the other two move one in the opposite direction
so (O = orb, X = swords, S = shield, <^v> = directions, @ = button pushed,
- = space filler (ignore these))

OSS @
SOS

Means it'll move

< OOX
---OSS >
< SOS

and become
OXO
SOS
OSS

if you hit the one on the other side of that original one
----OOX
@ OSS
----SOS

it'd move
---OOX >
< OSS
---SOS >

and become
XOO
SSO
SSO


Basically what you want to try to do it get it into a setup where you can easily work out what to hit to solve it, so

OOO
OSS
XSS

is a good setup to achieve because you just

< OOO
---OSS
---XSS

and then
---^
OOO
SOS
SXS

to get

SOS
OXO
SOS

so you just try to learn to recognise patterns that can get you there

Managed to do it in 62 moves. Started out just clicking randomly, then I decided to start to focus on the pattern. I found that there are certain positions you can put it in to then one-click to win

Anyone got better than 4 moves?
I think I just got lucky.
