"Gather round, children, for this year's scary story!"

It was tradition in the small town of Aurfeather to tell scary stories the night before halloween. Quill Sallow, a young, rich gentleman who was new to the town, was the storyteller for the last 2 years since his arrival. Little kids nearby came rushing to him, while kids further away were told by friends or parents that it was starting. The town was so small, that this year, almost all the kids had shown, except for Quill's own daughter, Lilly, who had been rather sick.

"Alright kids, tonight, we'll be talking about the witch of the blood moon, A fable originating from this very town!"

The young kids scooted closer, gazing at Quill. They were excited to see what he had for them, and they were ready to be afraid.

"The witch of the blood moon...A beautiful woman, who only ever shows when the moon is round, bright, and rose red. She always appears with white locks of hair, large wings, and a gorgeous attire. She wears a mask over her mouth, and makeup on her face. On only the best, most radiant blood moons, and only those in october, does she show. When she does, everyone in town will feel the need to fall silent. She will appear cloaked and hooded. Once the town is completely soundless, she will sit in the center, remove her cloak, open her eyes, and spread her wings. She will stare into the night, and one by one, everyone in town comes up close to her, entranced by her beauty. Even those who aren't interested in women or who are in a relationship will swoon over her. She will blink for the first time in the hour, and all of a sudden, the townspeople will be swung into a craze. They will attempt to knock one another out. Only one person will remain. If it is a woman, the witch will blink again to heal the others, wake them up, and restart the frenzy. If it is a man, however, she will still heal everyone's wounds, but she will take the poor fellow, disappearing into the night."

The children talked among each other. Suddenly, young Cynthia pipes up.

"Mr.Sallow, That story was kinda...bad. Why isn't it as scary as the others you've told?"

"Because, Little Cynthia, that was but the first half. For you see, one night, The wife of the man who was taken woke up and saw her love being taken away. She screamed, and the noise awoke the others, but none had seen the witch and the poor woman's husband. They did have a faint remember of the fighting, unlike most visits. The woman was taken to the hospital, but after one especially sorrowful night for her, she forced everyone to leave her room, and was never seen again. Ever since then, the townsfolk had decided to make sure this despair wouldn't need to continue. The next day where a blood moon was predicted, they broke into a social outcast's house, and beat him until unconscious. Then, they tied him down to a plank in town center. The moment the blood moon had risen into the sky, the people fell silent. They waited, but never fell into a trance. The outcast was never seen again, and the plank was empty. People were relieved, but disturbed. Most the townsfolk had decided to not participate in tying and sacrificing anymore, but they still held secret votes to discuss who should be sacrificed, while a small group of strong, brave people would carry out the deed. Legend has it, the sacrifices still continue to this day..."

The children were all quiet. Cynthia's now shaky voice rose from the crowd of children.

"It's just a myth, right Mr.Sallow? Right?"

"But of course, little one. It is but a fable we use to give ourselves a scare."

Cynthia's mother came to Quill.

"Sir, I believe that tale was to horrific for this town's children, especially with the upcoming blood moon. Have you no concern for them?"

"Oh, apologies Ma'am. I just wanted to impress them is all...I won't tell it again, I promise."

"Yes. You won't."

On halloween night, the moon was rosy again. There was no sound in Aurfeather. On the first of November, Lilly Sallow was found sobbing, wandering the town. She muttered about her father being gone, and the butterfly lady had taken him. She was quietly moved to a hospital. Exactly 3 days later, she had an emotional outburst, and asked the townsfolk to leave her room. Reluctantly, they oblidged.

Lilly Sallow was never seen again.

(sorry if it was a bit long!)

She was never supposed to go to the party
But sometimes people are in the wrong place
The wrong time
No one knew of the gas leak
Except
For the one who caused it

Ignore the house in the forest
Nobody comes back
A little girl giggles
But don't think she's having
fun
You shouldn't join

Ghosts sometimes forget what the living need.

It was a dark fall evening, when suddenly a peal of crackling laughter rang out.
"I'm free!" She howled, "Come my shadow wolves, come and we will show those pathetic mortals what a demon is truly capable of! They will regret the day they locked me up, for now, it is time for my revenge."

The two shadow wolves growled and melted into the darkness as the she-demon left up in the sky and towards the human cities.

Thousands of years ago she was a sorceress queen, ruling with an iron fist and practising terrible magic. Finally a band of heroes, backed by the neighbouring kingdoms, were able to banish her to the dream realm, and they wiped her name from history.

She waited till she was truly forgotten, and then began to invade peoples dreams, and steal their soul, and replacing it with one of creatures she had crafted. Over the years she has perfected her craft, making it appear as if nothing had changed when she stole their soul, using her thralls to take over others and do her bidding, the only signs of a failed attempt being horrible nightmares.

What her goals are is anyones guess, as there have been both heroes and villains that were her thralls, and what she does with the souls she takes is unknown.
yet one thing is certain, she truly is the the Queen of Nightmares.

She is a Channeler, a huntress of her people. Her red and black garb denotes that she is on the hunt and is not responsible for what happens to you if you get too close. Her golden eyes, hair and hood accents as well as her Amplifier's golden markings tell all who see them they are at the highest level of soulbonding. Her kind, the Lightning Channelers, only hunt in autumn when the great storms rage in off the cooling seas. Soon she will be far enough away from the town to start the hunt. Her Amplifier will soar up into the clouds, ready to reach out for the lightning and she will channel the power of electricity through him into her prey. If all goes well a marauding beast will be destroyed and the townspeople will have meat in their pots. She and her troupe have both protected and fed them through this season, and she looks forward to many successful hunts to come before the Ice Channelers take over the task.

Nightlord and Beast

In the dark of the night, he stalks forth to bite,
possessed of the Beast, they hunger to feast,
They hear Blood Moon's song in their veins as they walk free of their fetters and chains,
to hunt prey until the coming of day.

Ketarsa muttered under her breath as she flipped back and forth through the spellbook. Seriously, was this thing written by a witch or a Ferrikki drunk on fermented berries, the spell she needed had footnotes referencing at least ten other spells throughout the tome. A gust of wind caused Ketarsa's torch to gutter and the page she was perusing to flutter violently against its binding. An eerie yowl undulated through the chill air.

"Oh shut up Fenris! I'm nearly ready." Her sleek familiar slid into view from behind a tombstone, his whiskers quivered in anticipation, he could feel the magic building as his mistress gathered the arcane energies.

With care the blood witch carved the summoning circle into the half frozen turf of the cemetery, each rune must be precise, even a tiny mistake could mean disaster. She stepped back, now was the time, the moon had risen, full and bright. Ketarsa began to chant, the language of her dark elven ancestors rolled across her tongue, heavy with power. Fenris wove between her legs lending his voice to hers. Energies coalesced, the circle began to glow, tiny flames began to to flicker about it's edges.

Ketarsa's voice grew deep and guttural, the ground trembled, and the flames grew and took form. A feline creature made of pure flame danced inside the circle, it's soulless eyes searching for a way out.

"Why do you summon me elf?" it's voice was a thousand fires crackling.

The blood witch sneered, "Why else? To make a deal."

Hades Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned

Time with the one you love, that is supposed to be magical. A time for learning of each other, a time to walk along the long paths winding through the forest, a time to love..... she ran along the forest path, looking forward to finding her true love in the small, secluded meadow that they had shared. She slowed down as she rounded the last curve into the meadow. She looked around, seeing no one. She whispered his name, she called out his name, she screamed his name. A note was nailed on "their" tree, as she read it her face darkened. Her body shivered with anger. Her fist crumpled the note and it exploded in flames. Incantations flowed from her lips as she called on the power of Hades. The smell of sulfur burned her nose, flames rose around her and brought the heralds of death. As she slowly walked along the path leading to his house, flames engulfed the forest around her. Following her to her "lover". Never mess with an Occultist's love.
