We have made some additional edits to the adult sketches. These will probably be the final posted sketches and from here we'll move onto doing the lineart and shading next. If you want to view the previous thread, you can view that thread here.

Please keep in mind that these are sketches, these are NOT lineart. They will be completely redrawn as actual lineart once the sketches are finalized. We have made these sketches a bit more high detail than they would usually be so that we can better translate what's what within the sketch.

As a quick example of the difference between a sketch and lineart, here is how feathers would look once they are redrawn as lineart.

When providing feedback, please be constructive and courteous with comments directed towards us or other players! Thank you!
That's precious and fluffy!

Is this the adult? They look a bit more like hatchlings to me.

EDIT: Wait, I can't read lol. nvm

What traits will be removed or majorly changed(besides being redrawn to fit the new sprite)?

As a final thing, the male's tail looks a little off. The position looks like its in an odd orientation, almost like the Nyke is sitting on it.

Oh better!
I think my complaints at this point are largely satisfied, but some things still bother me a bit:
1. Relaxing the raised female's claws
2. More of an S-shape in the neck and chest for both
3. I still feel like the heads look too big
4. The male's back can take a more extreme arch and his fore-feet can still be moved closer together

Dragons and owls are both animals I feel are associated with having a proud or regal stance. I think almost all of the suggestions up above are efforts to achieve that.

Here are some rly rly quick doodles. obviously not quite the style you're going for, but in order to convey a point

Edit: I think I might also agree with scath about the two finger thing

I haven't made any comments till now... but after seeing Dinnerbone's sketches.... this is what I think a Nytekrie should look like. The pose is much more predatory looking and the faces have a regal look that complements the rest of the drawing. It brought back what was missing from the last three sketches compared to what we have at the present time. It really makes me think it is an owl/dragon pet!

Sorry Sylestia team! It looks like a mere player has one-upped you on the sketches. We can't help but like them better! >~<
Cute and fluffy is good and all, but it doesn't really match the species description.

I usually don't weigh in on the discussions when it comes to art because I usually don't have anything I can say constructive and because so many others say what I would say so why duplicate the sentiments. This time, however, I feel I must make a comment because like several others, I like Dinnerbone's sketches as well. I mean the current sketch from the Sylestia team is nice and I like them, I have to admit for the species that this sketch that has been added in is more in line with what I see when I think about Nytes. I don't get the owl/dragon from the current sketches, but from Dinnerbone's sketch I see it very clear there. I know this is probably a bit rambling and disorganized, but I just wanted to get how I felt down. Thanks for considering our thoughts!

it's likely that a lot of the traits will remain similar to their pre-vamp look :) there are usually only a few that require extensive changing (typically to better fit a pose), and with the new revamp, there will be a number of new traits added :)

as for when it's coming, all it takes is patience ^^ it will be announced before you know it~
