Um..Troy is on the navy ship and IDK what Tracey shold be doing...I think she was still on the docks drawing maps with chalk?

Defiance forced herself to peel open sealed eyelids, then immediately regretted it, wincing at the bright light streaming in through the porthole.
It was a moment before she figured out what had woken her - the muffled thumps in the stairwell leading to her and Maxine's cabins, and the map room in the stern of the Night. It was a soft thump, as though something squishy and not very hard had fallen down... as though a person had fallen down.
Defiance moved the blanket off of herself, moving as minimally as possible, though the small movements still sent shocks of pain down her torn back. She managed to roll onto her side then to the edge of her hammock, then brace her arms on either wall of her cabin - it was small enough that she could easily touch opposing walls at once - and pushing herself into a sitting position with her legs over the side. Standing up was the hard part, and she fell back onto her hammock three times, but she was relatively confident she didn't pop a stitch.
She yanked open the door with stiff arms and limped into the narrow corridor. She looked both directions... then looked down.
Defiance tried to talk, but her tongue felt glued to the roof of her mouth and felt as though it was filled with sand. A small, hoarse noise was all that came out. She couldn't lean over and shake Maxine, so she settled for kicking the captain in the shoulder.
Please tell me you're okay, Max, she thought. We're both idiots, aren't we?
