Hello there, whoever's reading this. I'm not sure if this should be in the roleplaying forums as what's discussed is a form of roleplaying, however as it also requires potential voice chats or other social platforms to make communication easier, off-topic it shall go!

Long story short, Tabletop Roleplaying Games could be easily seen as choose-your-own-adventures, with the most well-known game ruleset being Dungeons and Dragons. LARP (live-action roleplaying) is also another common scene - know all those guys dressing up in wizard outfits, wizard hats or lugging around swords and wearing thick armour and swinging them around at others? Cosplaying and acting as that character works too.

So what is this thread about? Well, I'm wondering if any Sylestians would like to join me on an adventure, through one ruleset, or perhaps more (depending on time, gameplay, etc), of a tabletop roleplaying game. What kind? That's yet to be decided. I'd prefer to stray from Dungeons and Dragons (have been playing too much of it) but would gladly play or dungeon master for it (though I am still a young master).

What is a dungeon master (or game master)? Essentially they're the narrator. They're the person who has the final say on all rulings and storyline.

TLDR; Looking for a group of people who would like to start a campaign with me.

Looking for: Max of 8 people, Min of 4. The narrator is not included in this count, so we'd have a group total of interested + 1. 3/8

Ehehe, don't worry, you'll definitely find a friend here - that's the hope, anyway. There's still no guarantee we'll run a campaign though since we'd still need more people and I'm not sure if anyone else will join! Were you thinking of Gming/Dming too? I was going to have essentially just 'sit down and chat' with the other interested gms/dms and see who'd take the lead for the campaign.

Let's hope I find a friend haha, and hopefully more people show interest.

Ah no, I'm fine with being a normal player. You mentioned doing the campaign outside of sylestia, what other platforms were you thinking of?

Honestly, I was thinking of leaving that till the end? I know some mobile applications that can void voice chatting, but I'd prefer using it - still, it means nothing if voice chats make someone uncomfortable. My only reason for my hesitance in doing this on Sylestia is due to the fact that it'd be extremely slow. You have to refresh to get new messages on a forum and same with private messages, I believe?
