Let it be known that I tried, and something worked at least a little bit.



Materials: Model clay, plant clippings since I couldn't make vines for the life of me, one egg died pink, and some watercolor paints.



I tried to make a straight up Nephini, but the wings...No.



And there we have it. Paint was wrong for the clay, so we lost a flower, but the gems went okay. Picture is a bit blurry, so here:

Here is my Digital Easter egg

Can players co-make something? Like, can they work together on the projects and both enter it?

Tie Dyed Ferrikki Eggs

First, I wrapped the eggs in paper towel before dyeing them to give it that tie dye look.


Second, I dropped food coloring on them and sprayed them with a water bottle, then set them out to dry.


Next I unwrapped them and picked my favorite, a pink, blue, and purple one(I liked most of them though, so it was hard to pick!).


I set it in a craft nest and popped some feathers in.


The finished product! I was originally going to take pictures outside, but it's been pouring all day T-T

A Ferrikki!

Since Nephini's seem to be one of the most coveted species in Sylestia (and after last fest's Snow Diamond theme) I have decided for my real Easter egg entry that I would attempt to make a precious gem themed Nephini styled egg.

First things first I needed to find a suitable egg, a relatively thick sewing needle and a jug/container.


I then used the needle to punch a small hole in either end of the egg to allow me to blow the yolk and whites into the jug.



I then ran some water through the egg to rinse it before leaving it to dry.


Then using liquid white out I filled in the two holes.



I then decided to use a metallic pink acrylic paint to colour my egg rather than dyeing it in a more traditional way. It took about 2-3 coats to get a nice smooth and opaque colouring.


Now for the fun part :D Collecting all of the decorations. Note: I am missing the petals and leaves seen in the end product as they were a last minute idea to add a bit of a Spring feel to the overall piece.


I started with making the 'precious' themed vines from 3 strands of gold and silver craft wire folded in half and plaited. (Sorry for change of background had to move my work station XD)




After a struggle with getting the vines to stay in place while the glue dried it was time to bling it up a bit with
some 'precious gems'.


As a last minute thought to finish the project off and also add a touch of spring to it, I decided to go for a wander and find some leaves and petals to use as and velvety cushion and nest for the special egg :)

all i know how to do is draw so i just drew a little picture of a nixi with an egg ^^
