I made bumblebees in a garden (with some easter eggs)! It was going to be a gummy worm at first, but I decided I didn't like it, so you'll see the ingredients change a couple times. :)

So recently I have seen a lot of fruit/vegetable carving so I figured I would give a go and try making a carrot dragonfly :D

Carrotfly Cutie:

Insect-making setup!

Started carving the carrot

Attached a blueberry as the head

Cut grooves into the carrot body to stick in onionskin wings. Onionskin makes lovely dragonfly wings!

Closeup!

Similar cuts on the bottom of the body hold the cherry stem legs in place

He's done, and just chilling on my lunch. Tada!~

Time to make an insect! I really love candy, so that's what I used. ^-^
Here's my materials.

Let's get the body made first~

Now for some color!

Finally, some little details to make it look nice. Look, it's a ladybug! ^-^

Solid Chocolate Tiger swallow tail cupcake

Almost forgot to enter something for this.. (may update with more tomorrow)
Stage 1 All the bits:

Stage 2 Baking the cupcakes

Stage 3 melting the chocolate

Stage five delicately drawing with the chocolate

I missed a few photos sadly, just turned out blury
so
Stage 7 assembling the peices, solid carved chocolate body, solid chocolate wings (the white oddly glows) and adding my little white flowers.

Stage 8 added eyes... not sure if white eyes look cool or creepy, sadly can't try dark chocolate now.

Stage 9 Antenna, OMG that too some trys, chocolate melted in my hands a lot and had to glue base with melted chocolate like crazy glue.. quite tricky! But made it work XD

I made a butterfly out of an apple. I tried to carve patterns onto the wings in the 3rd image ^^
