It takes a while, only broken up by taking a few steps forward before jarring to a halt again, but you finally reach the militia on the bridge.
They are just handing a strange object given by a passing Centaur to a runner, who swiftly disappears off. One of them turns to you, raising a hand, a bored expression on her face. "Bridge toll," she grunts, waiting for you to put something in her hand.
I put a few gold coins in her hand, "Hope you have a nice day ma'am and I hope no one causes trouble."

Nico leaves that vendor. Snotty fellow. Mught as well see if theres a better offer elsewhere-although if he does find a carp hell be sure to get his weapen.
He stoops into a dive, gaining speed before levelling out again. You glide over the treetops, clouds speeding across the sky, periodically casting shadows across the land. The wind sings in your ears, reacting slightly to your attunement to air magic. It is, in fact, quite peaceful.
Skywhisper flies on for some time, before complaining about needing to relieve himself - slowing until he lands in a clearing.
He shrugs off the harness. "I'll be back in a bit," he says, padding off into the trees swiftly.
You've made good progress - the trees have thinned out significantly. You must be near the Central territories, and it's not midday yet.
I stand up, stretch, and walk around in the clearing.

You have to scoot round other Dwarves swinging pickaxes all around you, but you can do so without being hurt. There are many miners here, crowding the sides of the shaft.
There's a gap between a burly Dwarf and a smaller one with crude goggles over his face where you could hack at the side of the tunnel for now.

She takes a look at the gold, bites each one, then pockets the coins. She seems to notice all of the little creatures cowering round your ankles, and the Goblin beside you. Numbat takes off his hat politely and smiles at the guard.
She snorts, stomping the ground and making Blazetalon jump. "Trouble? Why do you think I'm here?" she chuckles. "Kid, if the world were a nice place without no trouble, I wouldn't be here taking your gold." She points at the Goblin, a sneer on her face. "But it's his kind that keeps the world from being nice like that."
She waves you on, looking to the next party hoping to cross the bridge.
Numbat sighs. "They're all the same," he says wearily, putting his hat back on his head. "Just because I'm a Goblin doesn't mean I act like other Goblins. Which is why I'm glad you and your friends see me differently!"
He grins at you and the other creatures, setting off across the bridge. "Now come on! Adventures await us, and a whole lot of walking."
Crimson and Emberpaw look at each other, a silent message passing between them. They pad off after the Goblin, the others following suite.

There doesn't appear to be any more stalls of interest - and the Dwarf vendor from before selling the meat jerky is looking at you in irritation. Evidently you've not moved far enough away for his liking.
Knight is peering over the edge of the canal, looking into the deep water curiously. When he notices you, he grins. With his teeth on display, you hear some people behind you make noises of fright.

You hear the buzzing of insects flitting around the wildflowers that grow up to your knees in places, and a little way away you can hear the trickling of a stream. The egg sparkles in the sunlight, which now warms your face more than its weaker rays did this morning.

I squint at the egg to see if I can see inside.
