They don't, of course, but Shootingstar still sits just outside of the tent. He looks to the sky, where you see hundreds of stars blinking to life.

Woah, Crimson's jaw drops as she looks up.

I look up at the night sky for a little while before I go into my tent, "Beautiful."

It's then you realise that, even if the other creatures were brave enough to come close enough to share the tent, that there wouldn't be enough space anyway. The tent is quite small, and you and Crimson just fit with little room to spare.

With that I'm glad the familiars stayed outside as I go to sleep with my arm around Crimson.

You get a sense of deja-vu when you wake and Crimson isn't there again. This time, when you hear scuffling sounds outside, you know what to expect.

I walk outside and get the camp packed up. I eat a fith of my bread loaf and get ready to travel again.

The creatures scurry away again, though Shootingstar stays to lead the way.

The bread fills you up enough to get rid of the faintly aching hunger you woke up with this morning. Crimson, again, is fine, already fed off of some grassland Critter.

You head off again, over gently sloping hills and through wildflower pastures, stopping every few hours for a break.

Later on in the day, when the sun is high in the sky, at the crest of a hill Shootingstar suddenly stops, flaring his wings out and backing away from whatever it is he sees.

"What is it," I ask Shootingstar.

"A little recipe my good old mother taught me," Balthur says proudly. "Family tradition, if we're taking a hitchhiker into our homeland, we serve them good old Fredyn Soup. That's my family name. A nice mix of the herbs you find in the Central territories, a few of our grazing Critter meats and a vegetable or two."

He ladles some of the soup into a couple of bowls. "That'll keep you going," he says, handing you a bowl. He turns to the Wyvern. "As for you, grumpy-guts, just you think yourself lucky you're getting the rest of it rather than nothing at all." He drops the pot down in front of the creature, who hastily dunks his muzzle into it and starts guzzling it down. "Greedy-guts too," Balthur adds, but a satisfied look fills his face that even the Eastern Wyvern likes classic Central food. He turns to you to see what you think of it.
