Dad comes in around the time when the bread rises. "Ah, so you've learned that...Yes, I should have remembered that." He shook his head and gave a sigh. Then he helped set the table and make sure the food didn't burn.

Nick was in his room, examining the new saddle and headpiece that would help when riding a dragon. He had made it since he had seen the dragons. They were eye-catching. It would be a wonderful ride, the dragon Rumor.

the bread finishes rising and Luna start cooking it
" Nicky asked a weird question earlyer."

"And what would that be, my little night butterfly?" James asked, and made sure Nick wasn't in the room in case the teen went ballistic at Luna's comment.

" he asked if a dragon liked him, the same dragon that almost killed him, weirdest question he could ask."

James laughed. "Well, some boys think in the aspect of 'if they act like they hate me, they like me.' More often than most, boys think, 'if they act like they hate me, they hate me.' Both are, at some point of time, right." James shook his head. "But with dragons, we will never know."

Ashes walked among the cages, talking cheerfully to the dragons, trying to find ways to keep them comfortable. Though most would think Ashes had power over this kind of stuff, he was in the worst position to do so. It was all confusing the aspects of it.

" why would a dragon that would have been captured the day before like him. i'll never understand Nicky."

"Nor any boy, most likely." James laughed again. "Neither will Nick - or Nicky as you say - will understand you and mostly any girl."

Luna checks on the bread

"Or anyone." Nick corrects as he crashes down the stairs. Stairs and him had an everlasting war. He went to the table, opened James' book about law, and started reading.
