XD oh sorry, I've never done one of these

Without saying anything, I back up and put my hand on my Zolnixi's back. Focusing ahead, I'd like to glance around and look for anything I could either throw or potentially fight with if needed

Deciding that we're not in immediate danger, I kneel down next to my Zolnixi and stroke her, in hopes of looking less threatening and calming her down. I carefully watch the other sylesti to see what they are going to do

(If you check the approaching animal thing that is a Mock Kraken, but they aren't harmful unless they are harmed.)

The Mock Kraken's eyes scan the surface of the water then it notices you.

What do you do?
