She looked at you a somewhat lost look on her face, she looked like she at least half believed you. That's better than her not believing you at all, right? She took the leather bound book out from under the counter and wrote something on one of the pages before speaking again.
"Odd, normally your kind appear with nothing on them. You must be a special case. Are you still looking to buy those?"

Welcome to the Forgotten Paths!

You begin walking down the path to your left. As you had previously predicted the path opens up after only a few minutes of walking. In front of you lay a field of long green grass and brightly coloured flowers that seemed to glow white in the bright sunlight. You had the urge to leave the path and run through the field to enjoy the sunlight, but you really didn't want to leave the forged safety that the path held.
It makes a happy clicking noise and disappears from the branch above your head in a fizz of bright sparks. Stunned, you sit down on the branch and stare at the place that the small creature had once been. A high buzzing noise fills the air accomplished by distorted yips. Another fizz of sparks directly next to you, causes you to jump in suprise. The creature was now sitting innocently next to you on the branch, its head tilted to one side.
"It's not your fault, nor is it anyone's. We didn't think that anything in this world could touch us and we paid for it... We should have been smarter, stronger... Then maybe we could have kept living the way we had been."
As you reach out to touch its wing it twitches and stares back at you accusingly. You give it an equally accusing look in return, hoping that maybe it would then let you fix its wing. It seems to back down and eat the food you had left out for it. You take out a what you think you will need and begin to bring the wing back together. After a decent amount of struggling you are finally happy with what you have accomplished. The large creature looks at you and happily whistles extending both of it wings.
You can hear the trees whisper and whine to the other being, but you cannot make out any of what is being said. The only thing you make out clearly is the feminine voice.
"Oh, we both know you don't just do that over nothing! Don't lie to me!"
What should you do?

"what a pretty stone for a pretty creature" I say, still kind of stunned of what just happened. I slowly put my hand out to it for the 2nd time...

I think for a moment then walk towards her. "I'll go with you, if you'd like. I don't anything else to do for an hour."
