I tell my companions to stop acting so aggressive, and softly ask her who she is.

(Sorry for the late response! Oh, and I named the adorable Ferikki's. The female is Jade and the male is Tourmaline.)
I quickly look the creature over, seeing if it is injured or needs food.
If it looks happy, and doesn't seem like there is anything wrong with it, I leave it be.
If there is something wrong with it, I'll try to lure him to me, with a small bit of food.
The girl doesn't respond, she just takes several more steps back before turning and sprinting down the hallway as fast as she possibly could. The large lion creature glances back before its gaze quickly snaps back to you. Its crouched position dissipates and it sits down slowly, keeping its head high.
"Greetings, forgive me for growling at you. We must protect those that dwell here. What is your business with the ruins?"
Quickly you turn around and stare behind you. At first, you see nothing, the ridiculous amount of corn blocks most of your view. However, after a few seconds, your eyes catch the faint glint of metal. A figure wearing a full suit of armour and a hood was crouched in the corn a few rows over.
You follow after him, climbing up the tree and ascending into the thick leaf coverage with ease. Aurorus squeaks every time he gets hit by small branches and leaves the wind off the thicker branches, eventually jumping off your shoulder, deciding to climb next to you. Meteorite seems to have completely disappeared... again.
What should you do?

From what you can see it doesn't seem to be injured at all. It just hisses and growls for a few seconds, before diving forward and running straight into both of your legs knocking you off balance. You stumble back before taking a step to far, falling right off the edge of the ledge.
It takes half a second for you to even realise that you are now hurtling down towards the ground far below. You quickly realise that you need to think fast and make an action before you collide with the ground.
What should you do?
