I have two questions, it's not related to this forum, but I hope you can answer them anyway.

Once you unlock the lost grove, you can upgrade your pets moves by using them so they can get stronger.

Question 1: Can you only upgrade them if they are used in the lost grove? Or once you unlock it can you use it in other areas too and still get upgrades?

Question 2: If you upgrade lets say, water element attacks. If you switch to lets say, fire attacks you have to upgrade that because it is a different element. Now the question is: Do you still have your upgrades in the water element? Or do you have to upgrade it again when you switch back to it?

Hope you get the time to answer my questions and thanks! :)

I can answer this for you ^-^ Pet moves have ranks. These ranks only increase in the grove. If you hit Rank 4 in Water and switch to fire you will need to start from the beginning of the fire rank. If you decide to switch back to water later it will be rank 4 still

Apologies if this is a noob question, but why don't you update on a private server before updating the entire site? Updating on a private server would prevent anything from breaking while you update each file. Keeping it behind the scenes and keeping all pages running till everythings updated. Its a personal opinion but i myself would be willing to wait a little for bigger more stable updates over broken pages. THough I also enjoy these posts that talk about the behind the scenes of the games programming. It shows how much work actually goes on behind the scenes. Either way its a great game with a lot of work put in :)

I would say that is definitely the for sure way to do it and 100% if I were in an environment where I was sharing the space (Sylestia's code/database) with others.

But I've just always done things directly with the Site and I feel that I am generally very careful and confident with my updates. When I do need to do something in a 'private' area, I will just make a copy of the page and/or copy of its database tables and work there.

Not using a completely second environment (of which I don't even have set up and have never attempted to set up) - I find that my ability to push updates is dramatically faster and it keeps me much more aware of how things are structured because I have to constantly be mindful of how things are structured. Having worked directly with files/database tables for years now allows me to pinpoint an issue usually in a matter of seconds once I read about it in a bug report or people just discussing it in chat.

So, I don't know, I've just personally felt that there's been an advantage to the way I've done it all these years and haven't seen much of a reason to shift from that yet. I do 100% understand the value of utilizing a testing server and would 100% be using it if I was one of multiple coders on Sylestia.
