We appreciate everything you do :)
but just a...just a thought...maaaaybe you should have waited until _after_ the event...
I am a little confused still why pages would need to be offline for so long. Do you not have a development environment, locally or otherwise, where you make the changes before pushing them live?
No, not usually.
If something is sensitive, I work on it in a private part of the website. But no, we do not use a separate server or virtual instance of the Site.
Faster and easier for me to work directly on things. =P
