Val opened her eyes and shakily grabbed the water, she drank some of the water and relaxed, "Ugh, what were you thinking would happen?" she asked setting the water down.

First few times it's hit or miss. Red explained. Sonic felt crazy energized his first time doing it, but using it was another story. I got a mild headache. Shadow claims he has no idea what we're talking about. I know other people who were fine the first time but had side effects every time afterwards.

Val gave Red a look, "But what was that though?" she asked with a frown.

It's the Chaos Emerald. Red replied. I think the waiter's coming.
Sure enough, a blue jay waiter strolled up to the table. "Here you are, missy." he spoke, setting the plate down. "Hope you enjoy."

Val smiled at the waiter, "Thank you." when the waiter walked off, she looked at Red, "So was what happened good or bad?"

Good because I know you have it in you. Bad because you haven't adjusted yet. Red responded.

Val nodded, "Ok, and how do I adjust?"

Same way you adjust to any other thing. Time, practice, exposure. Red made a gesture that probably qualified as a shrug.

Val nodded, "All right."
