How do I battle ban a Sylesti?

Sylestia doesn't have an 'offical' hardcore mode. So the rules are all self imposed. You battle ban a pet by just never using it in combat again.

In the past I've tended to release my sylesties if they've fainted but on a couple of occasions i've kept the pet in question.

edit: i'd advise you not to attempt hardcore mode yet. Judging by your player level, you've yet to go through Umbra Forest. There are unavoidable encounters in there that will knock out your pets.

Personally i'd attempt hardcore mode after finishing the story line because there are plot elements that make hardcore a nearly impossible game-mode

Oh, I'm at Viridian Point. Just warn me about the areas that'll KO my Dynamic Duo, and I'm set! I have a LONG way to go to completing Sylestia.

Not gonna lie, basically everything in Umbra Forest is going to suck. Unless you're exceptionally good at battling this early in the game they'll probably get KO'ed A LOT from a lot of little things.

There are also lots of encounters in the third zone that will probably wreck you. You're welcome to try a hardcore run but it might actually mess up a lot of things for you if you fail badly, and will just cause you to not want to play.

So, an update is in order.

Our latest hardcore run made it to level 60: yay! (using bad statted pets and WYSIWYG Gear)

We learned some important things!

1.)

The transition from Umbra Forest to Sweet Blossom Orchard was waaay easier than the earlier transition. The main reason is that all the encounters in the former are guaranteed to be maximum 2 stars (exception of the Necromancer who is optional/task based). All 3 star and 4 star enemies act like named. They have their own spots and you can see them before attacking them.
This made battling a heck of a lot safer for the hardcore party. In fact, though the enemies started at level 55, I was able to waltz through those zones at level 50.

2.)

Was able to make it through to Astryls Tranquility without having to overly grind the nightfall bandit dungeon. We didn't even go for Lord Talon encounter. By the time we got to a 'safe' level where we could beat Talon, we decided there was no point as we had already overlevelled quite a bit.

In other news, my second original hardcore pet died: Seer of the Moon.



Luckily, we caught an almost identical nytekrie earlier, so we named it Seer of Vengeance and she is now the replacement
