With Bean's reins in my hand, I limp over to the stables and quickly find an open stall to put him in. Then I limp over to the proctor, who was also my old captain.
"Hey Captain Shadis!" I shout out to him.
He turns and stares at me for a moment.
"You are... Fraen, correct?"
"Yes, sir," I say, saluting. I flinch as I feel the pain in my leg.
"I would have never expected you to come down here."
"I wanted to see the Cadets to get my mind off things."
"I guess there is a lot going on," Captain Shadis.
"There is talk about another expedition coming up. It makes me nervous," I say.
"You were that scared on your first one?"
"No, I'm scared for the graduates. I feel it's too early for them..."
"Don't worry Fraen. These kids, they are the best yet. Definitely better than your year."
"How so?"
"Some of these kids, the ones that were in wall Maria, have seen the titans first hand. They've seen how terrible they are, yet they still came to be cadets."
"I guess you're right. I feel bad for these kids though."
