JayClan
JayClan is proud and prosperous. Main food source is the large supply of blue-jays which live in the territory. Many of the cats are tolerant of water, but lack the body build of swimmers. JayClan cats are built for climbing and bird hunting, having sticky, muscular builds and tiny paws to fit into the smallest pawholds. They are incredible jumpers, but are gangly and clumsy on the ground. They have sharp claws and precise bites. They specialize in tree combat and quick, immobilizing bites. At four moons kits are trained to climb small, in-camp climbing trees so they are proficient climbers when they are old enough to be apprenticed. The other clans think them show-offs and haughty.
Territory Description
JayClan territory is composed of mostly birch forests, with two small creeks running through it. The land contains blue-jays(which chase off any other birds), squirrels, mice and voles.

Territory
Camp: JayClan camp is a small clearing that dips into the soil at the entrance. It is lined on the edges with fallen logs and dead branches. The dens are all burrows, with the exception of the leaders den and the nursery. The nursery is located within a very thick section if the wall and is lined with ferns, moss, and feathers. The leaders den is located in the hollow of tree which is growing out of the wall. In the corner of camp is a small grove of small-growing trees. The announcements are made from the High-Branch, a large branch jutting out over the camp from the leaders tree.
Lamdmarks:
Red River: The river is shallow and clay-based, making it red. Red squirrels also nest near this river.

Jay River: This river is also shallow, but it has a sandy bottom. The blue-jays nest around this river.

Moss-Stones: JayClan cats gather moss here. You cannot make a nest with just feathers!

Fox-Den: There is a seasonal fox pup den where a line of vixens always rears there pups, almost never bothering the cats. Seeing as there is not much prey in the area, JayClan cats usually live and let live.

Training Area: Where JayClan apprentices train.

Signature JayClan Attacks
Tree Moves

The Sky-Crusher
Balance on a thin branch; make no sound.
Land squarely on the enemy, claws unsheathed.

The Flick-Over
Balance on a thin branch; make no sound.
Land with all four paws outstretched on your enemy.
Knock the opponent's feet from under him.
Flip the enemy over to their belly; pin them to the ground until they surrender.

The Kick
Balance on a thin branch; make no sound.
Kick the enemy as you near the ground.
Use the momentum of the fall to spring backward before the enemy has time to attack.

The Branch Swing
Hold on to a branch with front claws as your back paws rake your enemy's face.

The Reverse Branch Swing
Hold on to a branch with back claws as your front paws rake your enemy's face.

The Trunk Spring
Balance on a thin branch; make no sound.
Slide down the trunk of your tree.
Spring off the trunk with your back legs at head height to clear an enemy (good if tree is surrounded).

The Reverse Climb
Pace backward as the enemy advances.
Climb backward up the trunk to escape enemy; often followed by the Trunk Spring.

Immobilizing Bites

Leg Bite
Grab the area just above the enemys toes in your teeth and bite as hard a you can before springing away.

Shoulder Bite
Bite deep and hard into the skin just behind the shoulder blade before springing away.

Tail Bite
Good for pinning an opponent or getting them off balance. Bite hard at the base of tail and hold as long as possible.

Ear Bite
Good for pinning an opponent. Bite into the ear, holding firm so they cannot escape.

While JayClan cats are good at these attacks, they are poor at regular combat when they cannot climb or arent free to use their teeth. Due to their larger size and smaller paws, they are unbalanced in the ground and claw-swipes are not very effective. They are best at immobilizing and stunning so the enemy retreats without many bleeding wounds.
