Aurum fluttered her wings, which glistened like sheets of golden metal in the light of the observatory. Moss covered the outside, which had become so worn and oxidized that one couldn't tell it had a roof of pure copper. On the inside however, it was a warm, bronze and iron paradise.
The copper dome had been coated with a thin layer fire and water resistant paint she found in the home of an alchemist. The floors were mahogany, and coated as well, so that they didn't gather dust or rot. The ticking of hundreds of clocks and the whirring of small automatons bounced around. The walls had been freshly painted a beige color, and the massive telescope had been polished to a sheen. In the back, between huge lumps of iron and other assorted metals, was a furnace, an anvil, and a pot of water. Dull tools, often used, hung from the wall.

"Ooh, it's a good time to go exploring!" She said. With that, the metallic dragon flew through the space where the telescope reached the sky. She grinned, pale yellow eyes glowing as Aurum soared, free.
