Deep in the center of the ocean, the Mermaid Empire Capital lays on the seafloor. Though the Purebloods ultimately rule everything, the capital is a peaceful place for all the species, and is one of the only places where all tribes get along. Humans are feared in the mer-kingdom by all, as they could cause this entire race to become extinct, so most humans are killed on sight. One day, a risky group of humans head out to explore this area, and a storm strikes. What happens next will be determined in the Rp. Each Mermaid subspecies has a ruler and some sort of heirarchy, the purebloods have two, the ruler of purebloods and the ruler of all mermaids

In mixed subspecies towns such as the capital, the natural nobility ranking goes as:
Purebloods- Royalty/nobility
Mersquids- Upper class
Mersharks- Middle class, not always trusted by other species due to their dangerous traits
Deepsea- Can be either Middle or Lower class, due to their rarely occurring presence, it's hard to judge.
Terrians- Lower/Servant class. Due to being considered almost human, they're often treated as humans, but it is still illegal to kill them

Subspecies List and Summary
Dark blue is used to represent scales, mint blue is for webbing, and clear is for normal skin. Dark gray is used to show sharkskin. Reddish Pink is used to show the squishy body of squids. Gold is used to show where bio-luminescent scales are
Purebloods



The Purebloods are the original and most politically powerful species of mermaid. Their songs are very beautiful, and are often what lure sailors to their deaths. They have longer, stronger tails and fins, as well as claws on their hands. Their tails have scaled parts around the webbing for extra strength and control while swimming. Purebloods are very social and prefer large groups, but will usually have a favorite few to be around.

Terrian



The Terrians are the only species of mermaids who can shift into a human form and live on surface. They lack claws and most extra fins, as well as the naturally strong tails most other species have. Their head fins and tails are considerably shorter, and they lack elbow fins. Terrians tend to make cliques of around 7-8 of their own kind, due to being outcasts and looked down upon by other races because of their ability to become human.

Mershark



Mershark's bodies are mostly comprised of cartilage. their more human parts have skeletons, but their tails mostly resemble the makeup of a shark's body. They have 5 rows of very sharp, dangerous teeth. The back four rows of teeth are retractable. Mersharks tend to be secluded creatures, mostly only living in groups of 2-3 close companions

Mersquid



Mersquid's bodies are incredibly soft and squishy. Their bones aren't the strongest, however, this allows them to squeeze through incredibly narrow places, making them hard to contain. They have the ability to shoot ink from their bodies, and the two longer tentacles can easily grab and wrap around things, as well as the ends being very sticky. Mersquids, similar to Mersharks, are more solitary, but still appreciate company of others of their own kind, liking to have one other around them at most times

Deepsea



Unlike any other species, Deepsea mermaids are covered completely in scales, though most of their scales are fairly soft (shown the the lighter shade of dark blue). Because of them living in deeper seas, they have bio-luminescent scales and longer fingers. Their scales glow at their own will, and can vanish into darkness easily. They live almost entirely alone, rarely making contact with even their own kind. Similar to Mersharks, they have two rows of teeth, the first row being longer, hooked teeth, and the second row being very sharp teeth.

(Mereels, deepsea, merrays) and I feel like she's be a perfect fit for deepsea, which have bioluminescent parts of their bodies, perfect dark vision, and would probably suit her since deepseas usually live completely alone, though some will pair up (not trying to force it on you just letting you know, it's completely your choice)

Ah, then she will be deepsea. I was a little disappointed by the lack of one such species, good to know.
