So, a few questions...

If two parents have the same carried traits, will the child have 100% chance of getting those traits as visible?

If one parent has a visible and the other carried, will it be visible on the child? If so, what's the percentage chance?

If one parent has a carried trait while the other doesn't, what's the chance of the child having that trait as visible? Or is it impossible?

You might want to have a look t this breakdown we did about hidden traits, in which we included all combo types here

If two parents are, say, NB in a single slot in their genetics, that is, no visible trait in the slot, but both with the same carried trait, then the offspring will, in that slot, have 25% chance NN (no vis, no carry), 50% chance NB (same as parents), and 25% chance BB (vis B)

if one parent is (genetested) BB and the other parent is NB then the offspring will be 50/50 on NB or BB

if one parent is NB and the other is NN, then 50/50 no-vis-no-carry-NN or NB

if both parents are BB, all offspring will be BB

If one parent is, say, BG, and the other is NC, offspring could be 25% NB, 25% NG, 25% BC, or 25% CG

if parents are BD and CF, it's 25% all around BC, BF, CD, DF

repeat for every other one of the trait slots

Thanks!

So, how does max stat things work? Does breeding two good-stat sylestis together get you a good stat sylesti?

Also, those percentages are true for irl genetics, but are they true for sylestia? Because when I breed these two:

Every time I get this kind of offspring, just with different colors:

it would depend on the traits each parent has. Traits lower on the alphabet (closer to A) are always dominant over later alphabetical traits

Can't say for sure because the parents aren't gene tested (though they were probably regen, so no hidden traits anyhow, though possible carries), but let's see what the advanced search says:

Father:
Gene 1: (NN) Nothing
Gene 2: (NN) Nothing
Gene 3: (BB) Totemic Runes
Mutation 1: (EE) Beaded Flower Wrap
Mutation 2: (DD) Beaded Flower Crown
Mutation 3: (BB) Feathered Wings

Mother:
Gene 1: (DD) Merle
Gene 2: (EE) Fur Smudges
Gene 3: (GG) Delicate Runes
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (BB) Candy Crown
Mutation 3: (DD) Arcanic Wings

Offspring possiblities:
Gene 1: (ND) carried Merle 100%
Gene 2: (NE) carried Fur Smudges 100%
Gene 3: (BG) vis Totemic Runes, hidden Delicate Runes 100%
Mutation 1: (NE) carried Beaded Flower Wrap 100%
Mutation 2: (BD) vis Candy Crown, hidden Beaded Flower Crown 100%
Mutation 3: (BD) vis Feathered Wings, hidden Arcanic Wings 100%

And what that offspring shows is...
vis Totemic Runes
vis Candy Crown
and
vis Feathered Wings

aka, that offspring shows exactly what you'd expect to see given the parents' traits

(it should be noted that without gene testing, carries won't be counted towards preview offspring, so if you breeding preview with untested parents who are actually, say G1 NG mother G1 NC father (meaning on their pages it says G1 Nothing), it will never show the 25% G1 CG, and an M1 BB mother and an untested M1 NA father will never show a vis M1 AB despite that that would be 50/50 on the offspring.
What the preview shows does not affect the actual offspring, they inherit based on the actual genetics, regardless of if the parents are tested)

Sooo... What you mean is the preview shows what is most likely to be attained?

The preview randomly generates from the possible combinations of the parents (excepting the carries in untested pets.) So not what is most likely, just. a random grab-bag of possibilities.

Example using our nytes:
674, the father, and 676, the mother

if they were untested, the breeding preview would always show no-vis offspring for them, because they have no overlapping visible traits

Their genetics are:
674
Gene 1: (AE) Raptor Stripes
Gene 2: (NG) Fire Tiger
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (NE) Gallant Armor
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

676
Gene 1: (NG) Mystic Feathers
Gene 2: (AC) Shimmer Tips
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (NE) Gallant Armor
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

First four test breed offspring:
1 2
3 4

Gene 1: 1 (EG) 2 (50/50 NA or NE) 3 (50/50 NA or NE) 4 (50/50 NA or NE)
Gene 2: 1 (AG) 2 (50/50 NA or NC) 3 (CG) 4 (CG)
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: 1 (EE) 2 (50/50 NN or NE) 3 (EE) 4 (50/50 NN or NE)
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

Some actual offspring:

Gene 1: (EG) Red Tailed Cockatoo
Gene 2: (NA) Shimmer Tips
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (EE) Gallant Armor
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

Gene 1: (AG) Raptor Stripes
Gene 2: (NA) Shimmer Tips
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

Gene 1: (NA) Raptor Stripes
Gene 2: (AG) Shimmer Tips
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (EE) Gallant Armor
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

Gene 1: (EG) Red Tailed Cockatoo
Gene 2: (CG) Rosella
Gene 3: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 1: (NN) Nothing
Mutation 2: (EE) Gallant Armor
Mutation 3: (NN) Nothing

also, whoops, forgot the stat bit.
Offspring will always have stats between their parent's stats.
So if we bred, say a common wild-caught nyte

HP (100)
Mana (80)

Strength: (11)
Intelligence: (12)
Dexterity: (12)
Agility: (11)

With one of the nytes we just used as an example- which are part of our aiming-for-max-stats nytes project

HP (1200)
Mana (100)

Strength: (78)
Intelligence: 78)
Dexterity: (77)
Agility: (77)

Offspring could have stats anywhere between them,
HP between 100 and 1200 (a range of 1100)
Mana 80-100 (20 range)
Strength 11-78 (67 range)

Excluding stat boosts from manner of hatching/philters and nurtures.

So yes, breeding two high-stat pets results in high-stat offspring, because the parents' range is a small range in the high numbers.
Two max-stat pets will always make max-stat offspring.

So if you don't have a max stat pet already, you can't breed another one?

Technicly yes you can but you have to start from the beginning and then with selective breeding brigning the stat to the maximum generation after generation.
