I was thinking something like we release the pets, then every once and a while there is a few pets put up on an 'adoption page' and you can adopt one pet for free each time so that you don't feel so bad about releasing them, plus a newb. could get nice pets fairly easily.

@Snowcrystal

There could be a 'make ineligible for *name of selling place*' button, for people who don't want there pets to be sold.

I don't remember exactly but I think once the Hatchery revamp goes underway, there will be an option to sell pets for a small amount of scales.

When a pet is released, their feeding stats stay at 10/10. They are still "alive" in the wild. You can visit their page. They age but they never grow up so they are immortalized.

People can buy back their own released pets for 50 diamonds. Buying other people's released pets has been brought up before and its not a very popular idea. If you find a pet that's been released that you want, you can message the previous owner and ask them to reclaim the pet and reimburse them the 50 diamonds + their asking price.

So maybe there can be two different options that the owner has for releasing their pet. Either releasing their pet in the wild where only they can reclaim the pet or releasing their pet into the sanctuary where other people can pay an adoption fee to adopt the pet.
