The sun blazed down under the treetops, and night plunged the caverns into darkness.
The Grotto was cold this time of year, but not freezing. It never dropped below 40oF, considering the tall stone masses and thick redwoods that hindered any chilled breezes. These natural formations acted as a great, massive fence, protecting the undead, beasts, and trolls, while keeping out any sensible life.
Or rather, most sensible life...
Betrayed by the twisting smoke of a campfire, a middle-aged elven outcast sat in a makeshift camp, staring dully into the flickering light with his hands limp on his knees, eyelids sagging, mouth curled in an unsatisfied frown. He was Azaroth--thief, robber, outcast, gun-for-hire, rouge necromancer--in the end, just an idiot who thought that running off to the Enigmatic Grotto to chase his dreams and his hero would ever produce success.
He could've stayed int he Sanctuary to study...then maybe...found a decent, if humble living in the woods surrounding Arathian's legendary Magical Spire. Maybe he could even meet his role model. Maybe sell himself out as an apprentice to this experienced, fabled Dark Elf, this wizard.
Maybe.
But not now. Now he was stuck here...for the time being, at least. He scowled at the flames that lashed out in oblivion. He hated his reputation. He hated being stuck. And he hated that natural fence. To him, it was more like a cage.

Koko wandered around in some bushes looking for a clearing, while going through the bushes she made alot of sound alerting creatures that something was in the bushes. Koko wandered a bit until she stumbled upon a clearing where a large river flowed down it seemed to be endless, she wandered around to find a shallow spot as the river was dangerous and could easily overpower her bad swimming skills.

Quickly growing bored with his moping and stiff with the chill, Azaroth stood up to stretch his limbs. Instantly he realized that his stomach ached--he hadn't eaten anything that night. There had been no travellers along the road he usually raided, and due to his lousy hunting skills, he had prevailed in doing little more than startle a few birds. He sighed, dug through his pack for anything vaguely edible, and settled for a stale, hard crust of bread left over from a few meals past. He grimaced while he chewed, then swallowed hard.
Born a great citizen, renowned by his comrades, he thought to himself, settles into a life of luxury filled with rotting food and cold winter nights.

Dusk had set in, with sunset soon approaching. A large, warpainted Morkko made his way quietly through the underbrush, sniffing the air cautiously. Behind him, a muscular Lupora covered in spots and battle scars stalked silently, with a Qitari Rider bringing up the rear. The Elven rider kept on high alert, as the trolls had grown restless of late, due to the increasing amounts of undead in the forest.

"Alpha, scout."

Alpha, the battle-worn Lupora, quickly complied to her master's command. Swiftly, she tracked out the old worn path to the grotto, but stopped on the spot as she scented wood smoke from a nearby campfire. Growling, ears back, she and the Morkko, Tak, honed in on the scent. Soon, the party of four laid eyes on the camp and it's occupant, watching suspiciously from the shadows.

Koko decided to take a risk in the shallowest part of the river which wasn't that shallow, she barely made it over the raging river. As she wandered further away from the river she entered a forest there were a lot of other sylestis in the forest constantly she had to fight them off which was hard for a spoiled Puffadore that had no idea how to fight, she eventually makes it through the forest with a lot of scratches and bruises.

She limped into the clearing, she limped a bit more till she found her way at the entrance of the grotto. She saw a pet trainer at the entrance with three sylestis following him, she slowly backed off but broke a stick backing off making a loud snap. She jumped her ears up and quickly hid in a bush.

Alpha turned her head quickly at the sound of a twig snapping and the leaves of a bush rustling. She slowly stalked toward the bush in question, more curious than threatening, and sniffed it cautiously. Torak noticed her deviation, and would have called her back if he, too, had not taken interest. Patiently and quietly Torak and Alpha waited, eyes fixed on the bush, while Darkhoof and Tak maintained their posts.

Koko remained silent but she slightly moved making rustling noises, she still remained in the bush hoping they didn't hear her even though they were right next to the bush.
