You observe it, trying to see what's wrong. No injurys are found, but as you look again you see a thorny vine creeping up on it's leg. It seems to be glowing slightly in a redish color.

You look and try to see where it's coming from, but it's to dark to see well, even with the torch. However you are able to feel that it is coming from somewhere in a crack on the floor, but how deep it goes you have no idea. (By the way, approach often means help it. You could try pulling off the vine.)

You gently approach him, trying first to untangle the vine, but it clings deep and you don't want to hurt the sylestie. Then you begin cutting it. The moment it snaps in half the sylestie crumples to the ground. It slowly begins to wake up.
You have tamed him!
(Just to let you know Sylestiafan123, even if you did get another chance your character didn't know about the vine, and Lavastorm got to it first, so I don't want you to feel like you didn't get a chance so he tamed it, because that's not what happened. Not sure if you feel like that, but just in case I posted to let you know. :)
You look ahead and must decide where to go next.
Exit the cave and head towards the cliff
Head further down and inspect some carvings.
