@Stargazerdin,

Uhg. I am sorry that this is happening to you.

You are the second user to cite this issue and we unfortunately were never able to solve it for the first user.

If you wouldn't mind, could you go to www.proxify.org and attempt to view our site through a proxy?

If you're able to view our images through a proxy, it means there is some sort of issue between either our server and/or cloudflare and your ISP. Our Avatars and Pets are compiled with the PHP GD Library. For whatever reason, something we do causes certain ISPs to have issues with the PHP GD Library.

I will attempt to dig deeper and see if I can find out why. But at this point, I don't have an answer other than to use a Proxy. I am very very sorry and wish I could offer more help at this time.

I will try to dig around some more and see if I can find a better solution to this issue.

Here is something I found that could be worth looking to:

From: http://www.spip.net/en_article5212.html

Quote
(1) The first consequence: some ISP hosts do not install GD with PHP. With these ISPs, the associated graphical functions just will not work. From our point of view, it is significant that SPIP will not be able to automatically generate its thumbnails.

The best option in such cases is to request the ISP to install the GD library for you.

Edit:
I don't know. They use the term 'ISP' but I don't think they really mean Internet Service Provider lol~ Sounds like they're talking about the server host. In which case, I don't know what the 'I' is supposed to stand for.

In the past, I asked our host about this and they just simply suggested that its the ISP (whoever provides you with internet) and how they're reading data coming from the sever or from cloudflare.

Since it's such a small percentage of people (so far only 2), it's really really hard to fix something like this.

I guess, test using a proxy to see if it also works for you like the previous user. If so, I can contact both our host and Cloudflare and see what they can suggest.

@Stargazer, can I ask if you're from Canada by chance (I know another user with this problem who is also from Canada, so I'm curious if there's a correlation for some of the country's ISPs)

I live in the US and I found that using my net Book computer, that uses Google Chrome as a browser fixes the image issue. ill have to play around with settings and such on the other computer to try and resolve it from my end. I also tried Internet Explorer and it failed, might have to do with the plug-ins. as that normally is what caused these errors on other sites like this. I do thank you for looking into this quickly.

@Stargazerdin

Well, that's a relief that it works on another computer of yours. At least that helps to narrow down the problem some.

Please let me know if you are able to figure out what's causing the issue on your main computer or if I can help in some other way.

@Krinadon,

I'll do what I can in the morning. If i do manage to fix it ill post what I did so we can try it with anyone else that has this problem. Though right now my best guess is most likely its an Add-on causing the problem. i'll also try installing Google Chrome on that computer and see if it still works. Here's hoping i can figure it out.

I also cannot view the images from my desktop computer, and have been using my laptop for Sylestia browsing. I had originally attributed the issue to some kind of virus or something in the computer (as some of the images glitched in a similar manner that they occasionally do for me on Aywas), but if other users are having the same problem, then I supposed it isn't that. xD

@Blue,

Do you use Windows 7 as well?

Edit: Can either of you see this image?

@Krinadon

I use Windows Vista, and I cannot see the image (on my desktop computer). However, my laptop uses Windows 7 and can view the images just fine. :/
