After consideration, I have adjusted how the gold prices of Egglings in the Puffadore and Ny'vene Shops are determined.

The maximum possible base cost of these Egglings has been slightly increased, but the swing on the price increase per trait has been greatly reduced, with the minimum value of the swing slightly increasing, but the maximum value of the swing decently decreasing.

If that's confusing, I'm sorry lol.

Basically, on average, Traitless Egglings will be slightly more expensive. However, Egglings with Traits, on average, will be cheaper. The more Traits, the cheaper, on average, they'll be than before this change. The pricing should now also be more accurate to guess what the Eggling has.

Yep, you lost me. So if a 1 vis puff is 350k, a no vis puff is 200k? Just for an example? I dont get that. xD

I prefer my eggies to come with at least a vis, but I know people prefer to have more than just 2 carries, so I would naturally expect, say, a four carry to be roughly a million or more as far as gold. Then again, I dont know what price ranges are for those puffs/venes in there...so i just guess when I buy one. xD

*These are random numbers. They are not the actual numbers used*

For Egglings, the way it works is this:

There's a base cost that's a random number between a set min and max. Let's say between 100k and 200k. Let's then say the roll comes out as 150k.

So, base price of this Eggling will be 150k.

Then, there's a cost per trait tied into an equation of sorts. It's a bit exponential, so it's not as simple as each extra trait = x. The more traits, the more each trait will be. There's a multiplier.

So let's say this Eggling is lucky and gets two Trait Points. Visible Traits count more than Carried Traits. So that goes into the price as well. A pet with one Visible Trait will be worth more than a pet with two Carried Traits, despite both having 2 Trait Points.

The price per Trait Point is also a random number between a set minimum and maximum. Again, let's say it's 100k and 200k. Let's say it comes out as 175k.

So, the price increase from Traits will be the modifier, determined by the amount of Visible and Carried Traits, multiplied by the Trait Price. Let's say the modifier for this pet comes out as 2.

So the final price of this Eggling would be Base Price + (Trait Price * Multiplier).

Or 150k + (175k * 2). Or 500k.

Again, keep in mind, these are random numbers. They are not the actual numbers being used. But the logic and process is the same.

So, to answer your question of what price = what result, I won't answer that. =P But hopefully this provides some insight in helping players to figure out, roughly, what price can get them what result.

This change will, in almost all cases, reduce the price of the Eggling from what it would have been previously. Additionally, it should make it easier to guess what price would be what result.

Before, prices easily could have been multiple tiers. So you may have thought you'd be getting a 3 Trait Point, or maybe a 2 Visible pet... but ended up with just a 1 Visible. I sought to reduce that guesswork.

I think what he's saying is base price starts at "X" amount with base being zero traits, however a 1-Vis/2-carry egg which used to be double the amount of base price X will not be double, but will be plus "Y" amount, which is less then double. (?)

I actively breed for maximum traits, where possible. I've gotten pretty good at it so this artificial adjusting of the economy makes no sense to me. I don't charge anywhere near that for egglings or hatchlings. Why shove my prices up so high nobody wants to buy the puffs I breed because nobody can afford them? No, I'm not going to do that. I'm going to keep my prices right where they are. In the long run, I make more via volume sales than I would with high prices on spot sales.
