Ah awesome, thank you so much! All improvements are welcome; I really like how you guys keep us in the loop of exactly what's going on. Not just "Hey, site will be down" but going a step further and explaining.

That's great P.R. *thumbs up and admiring smile*

...geez, I sound like such a doofus.

How long are we going to be offline for?

I know I can add and hook up a new drive to a new bay and slave it in physically, in 15 minutes or less if the connections are already available to the motherboard, but someone else would have to actually add those connections cuz I dunno how. Put in wires and such? No prob, but that's my limit.

Then the formatting and adding the OS and running the appropriate tests, anti-virus program installs, and other stuff...and all that other assorted crapola. So, are we talking overnight here or what?

An estimated downtime of 2-3 hours.

It's not quite like doing it on your own personal computer. We are actually changing to a completely new chassis.

The chassis our server is using currently only supports a maximum of 4 drives. We already have 4 and are looking to add a 5th, so they need to upgrade us to a chassis that support 8 drives. So they'll be moving all of our components out of our current chass into an 8 drive chassis.

I actually am not even sure if they are setting up the new Hard Drive at this time. They may just be doing the chassis upgrade tonight and then scheduling the Hard Drive installation later.

The Hard Drive installation would be much simpler and wouldn't require formatting or installing any software. It'd essentially just be a "plug 'n play".

So...tomorrowish for the complete move or laterish after midnight or somewhen in between...give us an idea on glitch probability until glitch free. Cuz moves like that do not usually happen without something glitching, no matter who does it.

Personally I think the computers take offense at the changes, given how they act.....

Hi Krin. Just to let you know, there may be a bit of a glitch in the Hatchery as the images are no longer clickable and eggs can't be nurtured. Thanks for all the work you do on the site and for keeping us all updated and involved!

Thank you for always being honest and updating us about all these things. It really is appreciated. You guys are amazing. I know it takes time out of other things to answer questions like this and to keep us all updated but it really does make people feel like they're appreciated and respected. Kudos to you guys for always been so open and transparent with your customers. I'm sure it'll be its own reward in the end. ~_^

Thanks for all of the awesome improvements, Krin! I really appreciate all that you and Fai do! I can't wait to test out this new drive for loading times in a Festival Zone, or the MegaZone! :D
