Yea, that has been the issue throughout the day.

Everything has been stable for the past few hours though.

Yes, everything is fine.

Just tinkering with some settings. Unfortunately, if the settings don't load right, our pages don't load. So it was a bit fragile.

But there isn't anything wrong with the server or database or anything.

And at this point, the issue causing the downtime should be resolved.

What are the issues that certain players have been having? I was wondering since I started a few months ago having trouble with the fest zone being very slow for me. It was really fast though when you set up that thing during fall fest. Then one morning I went to go farm region 3 and it was sluggish. Battles are fast, but moving through the zone is slow.

But I've been thinking it's probably been on my end though. My computer is old and I've been having to use a very old windows as well. Still since it was mentioned that there's players who've been having issues, I wondered if it could be affecting me as well.

I'm thinking your computer may be a major factor. I play on 3 different computers throughout the house. They range in age, as well as distance from the router.

My oldest computer is 10-11 years old (geez, right?) and is hardwired to the internet modem. Walking through the festival zone is slow... very slow. Fights load pretty okay and are quick enough.

On my Mac, which is about 7 years old or so, walking around, is pretty fast. Battles are as fast as I can click / hit keys. It's about mid range from the wifi box.

Then, my powerhouse computer is a frankenstien of newer pieces. I zip across the zone like nobody's business. It's also downstairs, opposite end of the house from the router/modem.

The one thing I've noticed in correlation with the festival lag is the amount of people in the zone (of course.) and also, if I fail to refresh my page frequently. It's annoying but refreshing seems to help.

Specially, the players who experience 503 errors when using the Social Network, Trade Broker, and most recently, Snow Wars - among other activities.

I took a careful look at the error logs and it seems to happen a lot more frequently than is noted and seems to happen to a lot more players than have posted.

So I'm trying to adjust some settings to see if I can reduce or get rid of that issue.

Note that... the 503 errors everyone received today are essentially unrelated. Those were due just to the errors being produced from what was going on earlier and affected everyone uniformly.

This specific issue really isn't related to performance. It's more so that certain people are getting 'stuck' and have to sit there loading an action until the server kicks their connection because the timeout was reached.

Could very well be related to the battle/explore log.

I was tinkering in the MegaZone the other day on a 300+ turn battle and even with Google Fiber and a ridiculous PC, I noticed crazy load lag when that battle log was reaching 100 turns of info. Then at 101, 201, 301 when the log resets - woosh, back to instant load speeds.

So it could very well be with how I have the explore/battle log coded and your device just trying to load that massive amount of text with every action.

Shh... If I think it's because my computer is old, maybe I'll convince myself to buy a new one >.>

Didn't know if I should ping or not so I didn't. But that's really interesting, and very frightening: 300+ turn battle! Wow!

And that makes a lot of sense. My sad dinosaur here actually has to automatically refresh a page if I have several tabs up. When I click over to another tab, it will refresh the page. *pats old machine* Poor thing.
