Disappointing to see the drop in AI Griffi rates. We already get less loot than against real people and the AI gets better at the game to the point of impossible without boosts. Why all the hate on us antisocial people, Krin? :P

I applaud the other changes but the constant curbing us for playing AI instead is starting to get really old really fast. If I don't want to deal with people, my odd hours I play when people might not be around, and timers, I shouldn't have a decent shot at a Griffi? How does that make any sense when the AI can beat you, the person who made it, so it isn't like it is taking an easier route than playing people.

I'm honestly okay with the change. It's very possible to get to AI 4 without using boosts at all and at that point the drops really aren't that bad. The AI can be mildly difficult at that level, but not impossibly so. If there's anyone who's having a terrible amount of trouble, feel free to message me and I can look and see if I can help? :)

Edit: Also, someone mentioned adding Snow Wars to the mini games which I think is a fantastic idea. :) As long as it was worked on, I feel like it shouldn't just go poof until next year. It's a rather fun feature~ easy and calming at low levels and something that can provide a challenge at higher levels~ :)

First off, you don't have to keep bashing against the challenging AI if all you want is the rewards. You can now opt to play against whatever Tier of difficulty you find comfortable to play against.

Because the game and its rewards were built around the player not having that choice, it took into account that losing would happen once you kinda hit your plateau in rating. However, now that you can choose an easier AI for every match if you want, your winning percentage will probably be near 100% if you choose to play that way.

This means that, if left unchanged, everyone will be receiving more rewards than I initially set the numbers for. To counter this, I increased the Token requirement to 2. Some of you still have hundreds and hundreds of Bonus Tokens, so I don't think there's any reason to complain about this change. There are also hundreds/thousands for sale pretty cheap on the Trade Broker.

Additionally, because of the above reasons and because I felt that the Guardian Angel Griffi is slightly too common on the AI side, I adjusted its drop rate.

The Themed Pet has only been available for a few days and there are already 21 of them as of writing this post. The Galactic Griffi, which has been around for weeks, is only at 34...

So I think being upset at the frequency of the Guardian Angel Griffi is a little unwarranted. It's been available for literally like 2 days and it still has about 10 more days left of availability.

Edit: And in the 5 hours since writing this post, 3 more Guardian Angel Griffis have been found. =P

Hi Krin! First, thanks for all the work and changes you did! I am happy with how things are working right now! I have been playing AI on ranking and just for prizes. And am happy to say, I am think I am doing ok! :)
Question, I can't seem to find the post on how long Snow Wars lasts. You said above we have 10 more days of the Galactic Griffi to be around, so does that mean Snow Wars will go on?

Snow Wars will be available through the 29th. However, Tokens will stop regenerating after the 22nd.

So the 23rd-29th will be played with Bonus Tokens only.

You have earned a new Title: Snow Wars Mastermind!

No boosts used too yet, woo! Knew it would be possible :). Krin, I have a quick question for you regarding gaining/losing rank at higher tiers of AI. I just defeated the tier 6 AI for the first time, and only gained 10 rank (compared to gaining 30 for defeating the higher tier of AI once getting to the stage of facing it). Is this intended? I also lose the same amount of rank (10) when losing to tier 6 AI, as I do for tier 5. That seems a bit on the uneven side considering how tier 6 AI is so much harder than the tier 5 AI is.

Might I ask why there isn't a penalty for allowing your turn to run out? (Or point me to the explanation because I just barely skimmed the thread to see if there was an answer). Especially if it's your opponent's first turn, since that's what the mini frostbite was supposed to prevent.

That's a good point Amber.

I just got out of a match with a player who let their turn run out 3 times before they made their first move :((

However, I would also like to point out that whenever there is lag (from slow internet connection, etc), the timers often glitch. I've only had this problem twice but it was frustrating because it would say "opponents turn" but really be my turn but the lag wouldn't let me move.

It'll be interesting to see how this works out.

Edit: on page 4 (or maybe 5) on the forum there was some talk about this. If your opponent lets their turn run out 5(ish??) times then they automatically forfeit.

Congrats!

The rating has a soft cap of 3000. There is no hard cap though.

So yes, it will be difficult to climb above 3000.

I never did end up coding in anything to force an automatic forfeit. And now that I think of it, I may have also forgot to add in the -1 Damage penalty. I'll take a look and add that in now if that's the case.
