Painting? I use the Parrot brush myself for coloring if that happens to be what you mean?(which only works if you have pressure working, otherwise Parrot doesn't work well)

I really appreciate you thinking something like that, it makes me want to get better :)

with line less work myself, I use lines first, then color beneath the line layer

Once you've got the base colors you want down and some shading to work from you remove the line layer. At this point what you do is start adding more colors/shading to the picture so lines aren't needed to separate body parts or whatever else anymore
I like to use the eraser to sharpen out the edges that look sloppy from being beneath lines, you can also add fur for example over rough areas(if what you're drawing has fur) instead of using the eraser

Example:

I sketched out the idea for this one first, once you've got the base down you sharpen the lines or add anything else needed
then once colors were added I removed the lines and started shading it more and added more details

(unfortunatly I did not take screenshots while drawing this one so all I can show for examples are the sketch layers vs the finished version)
and I personally like parrot the most for shading if you want to avoid using black

(sorry if this is TMI or not what you meant or just not helpful in general)

Ah its adorable! This is pretty helpful. I personally use IbisPaint on my phone and wanting to get clip studio for my tablet. I also color by the fill bucket, and then clip it and add markings and then another layer for details. Then I just tuck all the colouring under the lines, lol.

Digital art is a lot easier if you have a tablet with a pen that uses pressure :D
I used to draw everything traditional then go over it digitally actually, but if you have an interest in art yourself I'd say a tablet is a really nice thing if you like traditional and are interested in trying out digital :)
What's cool about it being digital is the ability to use layers, and you can crop and move things around like a puppet if you want to change positions any ^^

Thank you for your kind words :)

(going to assume you're asking about Zach since he's what I last submitted)
Thanks :)

In the story I am writing I call him and his species "sentients"(which are anthro humanoids or chimeras)
He is host to a parasite(the arms) that in an unfortunate turn of events ended up being more of a symbiotic relationship(mutualism, they both benefit from each other)
(he was not born missing his limbs, that isn't a species thing)

He was born from a time I could not draw humans, arms, or feet :D
(based him off of a cat originally)
