@Faiona,
For the real life pumpkin, would painting it instead of carving it count?

Finally finished! It took forever to get it all scraped and carved, but I'm pleased with how it turned out, especially considering I haven't carved a pumpkin in years. I might add a couple more progress pictures if I get around to them later. And I forgot to update the date on the last picture, but it's supposed to be 10/30.

The horns are difficult to see because the candle is pretty little for such a huge pumpkin....

Living in college dorms, carving a pumpkin is possible but not practical. But then the "or any other vegetable or fruit if you cannot do a pumpkin" gave me an idea. Originally, i was going to do an apple, as that is the only fruit my uni sells on campus (well, and bananas, but i think a banana would not enjoy being carved) However, ended up walking to the not so nearest grocery store and they had bell peppers on sale, and hey, thats almost a pumpkin!
(Unfortunately, bell peppers are much softer than pumpkins, and my knife did not enjoy trying to do a more complicated design. I was originally going to do a puff candy, but after my knife sliced through the head one too many times I realized that wasn't going to happen. My knife was either not cutting or slicing like butter, so I went for something less breakable lol.)

(On such a small surface, its impossible to get the entire word "Sylestia" onto one pic lol. Also, phones make great improvised candles!)

Best part? Mines completely edible, and now I've got a yummy snack!

Here I come with my subpar pumpkin carving skills! I think I actually did okay considering that I had to rethink my design like three times after I found my hand unable to carve what I wanted.

Some lit shots, now.

Happy not Halloween anymore. :P

Ah, it was quite difficult carving an apple. No matter the amount of pressure I put on the knife, it still was stabbed all the way to the core, which wasn't good for mistakes. Despite this, completing the contest was an entertaining activity.
