what's a custom item, and can you get them ordered by krin?

A while ago, there used to be avatar items released in the diamond shop monthly and they would be available there for only that month. Along with those items, select parts of the outfit were allowed to be recoloured by people in the community, then turned into in-game items for a diamond fee. The customs were recoloured by players within the month of the item's release in an art program like Photoshop, Gimp, or Krita, then saved as the proper file type, then submitted to Krin for acceptance. Not all edits were allowed. There were rules to follow and such. If he accepted the custom colourization then it was created with the file name that the player chose for it and the diamonds required for the creation of the item would be deducted from the creator's account and the creator would get one complimentary copy of their creation. Those items are permanent parts of the game, but the only way to get them is from their original creator ordering them from Krin and paying the diamond fee to have the copy. So, to get any specific custom item, you must order that item through the creator of the custom.


Most of the custom items that were created were held items, though there are a couple of back and wing items floating around. My customs are all held items.

At this time, there are no new items open for customization, so no new customs can be made. Even at the time that customs were commonly made, you had to have your custom created and submitted for acceptance before the end of the month that the item was available in the avatar shop. If your submission was late, too bad.

So.... long story short: custom items were old avatar items that Krin had available for the community to recolour and make into real items for a fee, and yes, I can get my customs ordered by Krin, but no one else can order my customs except through me.

Also, if you're still interested, you can certainly order Tropical Song. The custom is just the rainbow bird held item (so you're aware).

how do i send over the diamonds?

it's 120 diamonds, right? how do i send them over?

It is 120 diamonds. To send diamonds, the person receiving the diamonds has to set up a currency exchange under trade -> currency exchange where they sell 1 gold for whatever number of diamonds they're receiving. Then the person giving the diamonds goes to the exchange and changes the 'looking for' drop down from diamonds to gold and searches for the right offer (1 gold for the amount of diamonds agreed on, with the receiver's name on it). The giver 'purchases' the 1 gold with their diamonds, then the receiver can pick up the diamonds from their exchange till.

Once that is all done and I have the diamonds, I will send a PM to Krin, asking him to send me a copy of my custom. It sometimes takes a day or more for him to have time to process that sort of thing, or it could take less than an hour. Really depends how busy he is. He will take the diamonds from my account and send me the custom, then I will send it to you.

DOes the avatar item that you want to custom, have to be recolourable?

No. Back when monthly items were released every month, in the announcement post, Krin would provide the un-coloured image file for any items we were allowed to try customizing that month.
