It's weird that your tank started taking massive amounts of damage. I don't usually need to use a single elixir on Specter through the entire dungeon. Still, if the spec that I recommended isn't working out for you, feel free to CoD me a fair mushroom with the respec fee amount and I'll pay so that you can respec your pets back to however you like them.

Yeah, I thought it was weird too.

For example I was doing a quest in Aryth's Spire and my tank did ok, he has 382 level-up points in agility. He has the Earth tree with 5 points in health, 5 in agility and 2 in the Bash attack.

He should be dodging this stuff like there's no tomorrow but he is just not doing well.

My fighter is ok though it could use more strength but seem to be ok as is my magic user NightMyst.

I kind of want my tank to pitch in too and not just sit there like a bump-on-a-stump and I thought the Earth proficiency was the cat's meow.

I am going to have to scour for better accessories to boos my tanks mitigation because that is all I can think of.

Boy, this gets more complicated, doesn't it?

Edit to add:

On reason I use accessories that are lower level is because, strangely enough, they offer better stats when it comes to physical and magical mitigation. Even many of the epic ones seem to offer poor stats.

I don't want to sacrifice, say, my Runic Elven Bracelet of Veracity because it offers such good stats including decent agility because every little bit helps.
Maybe I can see what my other pets are equipped with and see if I can switch some stuff around.

Actually, I think it's best to use proficiency points to stack into a single point pool to 10 and use your level up points to counter-balance proficiency.

Let me give you a point break down:

Proficiency Points of stats:

Health:
1 point = 100 hit points
2 points = 300 hit points
3 points = 600 hit points
4 points = 1000 hit points
5 points = 1500 hit points
6 points = 2200 hit points
7 points = 3100 hit points
8 points = 4200 hit points
9 points = 5500 hit points
10 points = 7000 hit points

Agility:
1 point = 5 agi points
2 points = 15 agi points
3 points = 30 agi points
4 points = 50 agi points
5 points = 75 agi points
6 points = 110 agi points
7 points = 155 agi points
8 points = 210 agi points
9 points = 275 agi points
10 points = 350 agi points

When you use the break down chart above, do you see how the points increase a lot in the upper tiers of point allocation? Essentially you gave your pet a 1500 point health increase and a 75 point agility increase, which is incredibly low. It's best to stack all of your points in the proficiency tree to a single stat first and then work on the other, so say if you chose "agility" and stacked 10 points into it, your agility increases by 350! Say that you do also want more health, easy fix~ use your level up points to add more health as there's no stack bonus with level up points like there is with proficiency.

So...use the proficiency point just for one stat and use the level ups for the rest. Ok...got it.
Guess I have a bit of work ahead of me.

So I will reallocate (again) to health and use my level ups for agility then use the armor, etc for the rest.

'kay...got it.

Edit:

Ok..reallocated again and here is what I have
https://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=1389757

(Sorry...not well versed with screen-shots)

So I allocated all the Earth proficiency points to health and the remaining 2 to Bash.
I then equipped my tank with the Dark Bracelet of Force and even though it is "Low level" if offers better stats for what I need so I am going to test things out in the Forgotten Tomb and see how it goes.

I have the same problem with the elves, mainly because they manage to attack all my party, instead of just my tank, so the tank really doesn't help since the others are being attacked and it has such poor offensive stats, that's why I'm currently creating two different high stat teams to try different combinations to see what will actually work.( it's weird because the dark elves are not like the arch mages but still damage all pets) Hope you succeed!

I see what you mean. This is kind of what I am trying to do just because of that (well, partly anyways)

I use the finishing blow right off the bat but it does little good and I cannot afford to go to the spire and get a buff potion and waste it going through the dungeon until I get to the elves.

Oh well...I will beat them someday.

Oooh...awesome. Bet that was a hard battle.
I am hoping to get some better armor in some of the zones before coming up against dark elves.

Oh well, there is no real hurry. My pets can't get above 60 or so anyways anytime soon.

It was, what really saved me is that by doing a lot of exploration I got many of the potions that can be used in battle and heal 2400 pts. ( used around 6-7 of them and a revival elixir too) Also got lucky and have some orange equipment which beats purple of even rarer eqp, at least so far with its stat boosts. But the mages were really causing damage to my powerhouses since they don't have as much hp as my tank.( luckily my tank never passed out)

Of course it also matter what combination of elves you get.
When my party last got whupped I had all three sorcerers and I had barely gotten one down and two others.

Hopefully on my next encounter it will be better.

I am collecting some strong restore elixirs in Sweet Orchard that restore 1600 points to a pet. That will be such a help when you don't have the points for using the pets own heal ability.
