welcome to sylestia! i can be your mentor, i am often on the site so you won't nead as well so chance are i will be able to answer any of your PM fairly quickly. ^-^

To answer more in dept to your questions :

1. The pet you bough was dyed meaning that he didn't had his original colors. If it have a tag it is possible to reset the coloration to his original one, it will work for any themmed even those breed from dyed pets.

2. Pets coloration is a mix between both parents, if you mix red and blue you get purple. ^-^

3. There is actualy three way a trait can show up on a trait : carry, visible or (as Orca2wale told you) recessive. When you breed two pets that have different traits in the same slot you have a chance that the offspring actualy get both in the same time.

4. By looking in the generator you will notice right away that there is a set of letter beside all the traits. A trait that is categorised as (CC) will be dominant on all the gene that come after it but will be dominated by any gene labelled (AA) or (BB) for that trait slot.

5. To see if you have hiden / recessive on a pet you nead to get it tested. A recessive trait will have ithe letter of his visual first and then the one of his hiden trait.

Other: I'm sort of stuck. I feel like I need to expand my party slots to finish some quests that will get me moving. I am at the Umbra Forest and dungeon quest. I keep dying and my party pets are all at level 25 and above with all the stuff I had to give them relics, bracelets, armor. I keep working on missions, but that doesn't do much for me. I don't know if I just need to keep trying to up the levels in Fungus Grove and Trollsbright Cavern or what. I don't seem to be getting much experience for that, so I'm lost. If you could be my mentor, that would be great. I wouldn't require a lot of help, just the occasional question here and there, like how to get past this point. Thanks again!

I'm not an official mentor, (I haven't applied because I just started being active again this week, but other than that I fit all the requirements) but I think I can help you out.

I think there was a point where I was stuck around there as well. I believe what I did was level up in Fungus Grove and Trollsbright Cavern, as you said you were doing, but also the experience orbs are helpful. You could send spare pets on quests to get gold, and then purchase exp orbs in the trade broker. Just make sure you buy the right level of orbs.

Exp orbs are random drops, and I think around that stage of my sylestia 'career' I found most of mine in Fungus Grove.

Another thing you could do is buy 1 high level pet, or ask someone to lend you one if you cannot afford to purchase one. Use that pet to help you until your other pets are a higher level. Keep in mind, though, that you cannot add pets that are a higher level than you to your party.
