Well, I'm challenging myself by playing on an iPad. And trust me, it's a lot harder. Also, all Pokmon are 2 or 3 paw prints away from me and my dad won't allow me to go out on my own. And the server is so crowded... The only pokemon I have are from insence. But hey, my first Pokmon from insence was a Pigeot so...

I get you. I don't really feel safe going away from my home, and Pokemon Go launched while I was on vacation, so I had to catch pokemon that I happened to stumble upon while being with my family. ;u;
It's definitely limiting. It isn't really as fun. In cars, I whiz past Pokestops too often, I'm too weak against gyms (if I ever stop by long enough for a fight), and most of the pokemon I get are common.

I'd dare say that if you can't go out of your way to find pokemon, you might not find Pokemon Go as fun as people that have more freedom to go exploring on their own. x:
Between the constant server instability, the randomness of Pokemon popping up close enough for you to catch without moving too far, and the high cost of incenses, you might want to just spend your time playing a regular Pokemon game. x:

((I say this now because I was looking into a DS emulator for Android, and the best emulator's full version is 5.99USD. Which can buy you a few incenses, but if I got a gift card, I could potentially find any DS game that I can play with the emulator, which lasts longer! I'm sure they have emulators in the Apple Store, maybe a free version if you really wanted. Playing Pokemon Black and other games on DS might be funner for you than Go atm.))

I caught six pokemon while walking around the grocery store today. :'D (a seventh escaped, and would have been my first water type if it had just stayed in the ball when the app froze)

I've met six people while out playing this now, too. :) Lots of twentysomethings. Also one of the teens in a course I'm helping out with on mondays has the game, and I explained what it was to his grandma (who also helps with the course) today so she was like 'Oh! That's what he's been talking about, then!'.

Then I went on a pokemon adventure with a 10-year-old from Venezuela as the bar mitzvah we were at was winding down for the evening. :) He was pleased to find out about the pokestops and the gyms and how the map works. He'd just understood the day before that I had a new pokemon game and was excited about it and that it was one he could get free, so he got it and had no idea what to do besides 'use incense, catch pokemon'. (There's a bit of a language barrier between us!)

I have been waiting nearly 20 years for my pokemon journey to begin. :'D I have a heck of a sunburn now.

I'm Valor, if anyone was wondering. Seems everyone online is either Valor or Mystic, ha

My prize catch is my Staryu, i'm still really low level because a) 95-100F WITHOUT heat index or humidity b) i am sadly in a living situation where i'm not allowed to just come and go as i please(old enough to legally drink but allowed to go out on my own to chase pokemon. Ironic.), and c) i live in an apartment which does not allow much room for things to spawn

My nearest gym and pokestop are practically across the street from my apartment complex though! The pokestop is a nice rest area with a covering and the gym is a fountain?? Plus i live really close to certain high traffic theme parks so there's guaranteeably lots of stuff there.

I see lots of Horsea shadows but haven't caught one, sadly. Looooots of Rattata and Pidgeys. Some Eevee but they all have Body Slam, which is said to indicate a Jolteon upon evolution...

I've been playing GO since July 6th and I am completely obsessed! I'm a level 9 team Instinct member!
The best catch I got was a Pidgeotto with a 300 starting CP, however my favorite catch was when I got lucky and caught a growlithe. I haven't been able to play GO at home because I'm on vacation but Montana had TONS of pokestops and Los Angeles is over flowing with pokemons.

Nope, most people have better luck in highly populated/high traffic areas. You'd eventually run out of pokeballs without a pokestop anyway!
