The dragonet looked down it's purple snout at Knuckles and squeaked a garbled sentence something like: "Yor aull dustwy wifh dirwt." Shell smothered a smug grin.



(translation: "Your all dusty with dirt.")

Knuckles made eye contact. "Being underground for any period of time tends to leave you that way," he said apathetically. "Now get off. Your claws are really sharp," said as he shot a glare at Shell. Did you really teach her to talk in the 15 minutes I was gone? he mouthed.

Shell mouthed back: No it comes naturally I guess? The dragonet huffed smoke and rolled off of Knux.

Knuckles picked himself up and shook the dust off his fur.

Shell tilted her head, "Welp. This dragonet has a mighty attitude." the dragonet puffed smoke in response. Shell blew a cloud steam teasingly at dragonet. The dragonet squeaked and head butted the ground.

Knuckles cleared his throat meaningfully. His eyes were still shining like he was planning something, and he had a smug look on his face. Then, without warning, he lunged for Shell's tail and held on tight. "Payback!" He shouted, digging his heels into the ground.

Shell snorted steam and spread her wings majestically. She beat them against the air and took off doing loops in the sky. "You can't hold on to my tail forever." she said smugly twisting into another dizzying spiral.

"You'd be surprised!" He replied sharply. "But I'm definitely not letting go from this height. Just don't make me get sick with all your showing off," he paused and added, "Sick as in motion sick,"

"Hrmmph." Shell grunted, "Don't you dare puke on me!" she halted mid flight and grabbed her tail in her talons. She shook it forcefully. "Off."

"Whatever," Knuckles said, apparently thinking that tail-rodeos were boring now. He let go and landed on both feet. "Sure you're name's 'SeaShell' and not 'KillJoy'?" He muttered too quietly for anyone to hear.
