Your active pet is simply the first pet in your battle party as far as I've noticed.

There is a way to edit a url to drop you to a specific post and page number, I'll try finding it for you once I get home ~

Well, since you'll be seeing this thread again soon, I have another question I just discovered.

Is it impossible to have two pets using items in a battle on the same turn? I tried to heal both pets in one turn but couldn't figure out how to get the second pet to use an item.

One item at a time, and then there is a cooldown of 1 turn before you can use another.
This does not apply to using traps, however. They don't have a cooldown.

Also to ping a user there is a little @ symbol at the bottom of this post. Just because I might not come check this thread as frequently without a ping.

Your active pet is just your first pet in your party, it doesn't get any advantage from that. As the first pet in your party, it'll tend to get more damage when fighting, since the enemies will tend to target the first pet more.

Also, when you reach the 3rd region, the format of exploration is different. As you move around the map, you'll be able to see your avatars, and your active pet.

Other than these differences, your active pet is just another pet in your party

Thank you! Another question (I really need a mentor lol).. Looking at the forums for example, top of page there is my avatar and symbols etc.. What is that nut looking symbol right below the gold? I have a 2 there.. Am I just stupid and that's the number of pets in my party? I don't remember it ever being at 1 though..

The "nuts" are actually scales, which you can use to buy certain items in the Scale Shop. You obtain these by nurturing pets, or clicking on an eggling/hatchling and clicking the correct button
Heres a little guide to help:

Egglings:

This eggling is warm = cool the egg
This eggling is cool = warm the egg
This eggling is dull = polish the egg
This eggling is restless = turn the egg

Hatchlings:

This hatchling is restless = play with hatchling
This hatchling is slow = race with hatchling
This hatchling is hungry - feed hatchling
This hatchling is derpy = read a book to the hatchling
This hatchling is weak = work out with hatchling

Hope this helps!

How do you move a pet from one stable tab to another? I can't find out how. I bought another tab for sorting, and I can't put anything but overflow in it? I know there is a way to shuffle them, but I am working on an android tablet, and the drop-down menus are tricky. I can arrange the order in each tab, just can't move them to the tab I want.

Thanks for being helpful!

I don't use Mobile so I'm not sure how different it is for you?
All I have to do on PC is click the pet, then go to the stable, and then click an empty slot.
:'c

Anybody else know how it works on mobile?

Moving pets between tabs/stables should work the same way on phones the way it does on computers.

To move within the stable, you shouldn't be using any drop down list. Mass moving is for moving pets between different stables.

To move them within the same stable, select the pet you want to move, click the tab you want to move it to, and click the stall you want to move the pet to. The pet should be transferred there. If you can arrange the pets in the tab, you should be able to move pets between tabs as well, you just need to select the tab you want.

If you really can't select the tab while selecting the pet you want to move, I'll suggest you try it on a computer. The site is built for computers and not phones/tablets, so while it should work the same way, sometimes certain problems arise and the admins can't fixed that. If it doesn't work on a computer either, then you should post in the bug forum.
