So... after struggling a bunch to get gear, and defeat Kimeira and Katalyst, I finally got a lucky break, and defeated those 2... Now I'm stuck on Oogar! *I keep typing oogBar,, several times... for obvious reasons*

What is the trick to defeating him? Just high agility, and lots of damage? O.o

@Oogbar,

What I've been told is effective is to have all of your pets use quick attack whenever Oogar obtains the Aiming status (green crosshairs). That will usually cause him to miss. Good luck! And lol at the similarity of your names, that's awesome. XD

Ok... It's like Mutie said, do what ever it is you do, till Oogar takes aim, then use quick attack to avoid it. Unfortunately, setting all your stats to agility doesn't get me very far in the fight *tried it just for fun* so I went back to my 70% to hp build. (All prof points to HP, 40-70% of level up points to hp, rest to damage type)

So far, with 6 mythical and 1 arena gear pieces, I can usually keep all my sylesti alive through all but the 5'th competitor, which I am now stuck at.

this guy is so ridiculous. I've got my pets using quick attack for every single turn, and they still keep on getting the spear arc hemorrhaging. I usually last for a little less than 20 turns before I die.

Penthesilea, my physical, has a quickness rating of 26. Verus, my tank, has 28. Priscus, magical, has 22.

any advice?

edit: hmm. just noticed he has really low magical mitigation. gonna try building an all mage team...

@Dundee,

You need more quickness. Apparently, if you have 35 quickness you will never be hit.

The one pet I have that dodges 99% of the time has 34 quickness. The two that dodge 50% of the time have about 30 quickness.

Agi and dexterity both effect quickness. So, you you have it, try equipping gear with those two stats.

alright, I've gotten my new team balanced so two of them have 29 quickness and one has 31, and I'm still getting hit by the spear throw. I can't figure out how to balance both agility AND dexterity, with my health and attack. I only have so many mythical items I can use. I don't know how to have that high of a quickness rating without sacrificing health and attacking... man, this is frustrating.

I know this is a old thread, but I thought I would post this to anyone still having trouble here to break down the stats and how to get the numbers needed for this fight...

Getting 35 Quickness rating is frustrating, but doable if you get the level 25 mythical gear from grinding Nightfall Bandit Dungeon (which should be a cake walk by the time you can access the arena).

Most of the mythical gear is great for tanking this fight, but here is my suggestion:
Sapphire's Relic: Dex +9, Agi +18
Talon's Armor: Dex +31, Agi +31
Bracelet of Shadows: Dex +47, Agi +47
----- Total: Dex +134, Agi +143

Both Dexterity and Agility both raise Quickness by 0.10 each point
So just the gear above provides 27.7 Quickness.
Most pets will have at least 40 points in each Dex and Agi by level 25, which provides another 8 points, bringing you to 35.7 Quickness without needing to invest any points in either stat.

If you don't yet have the mythical gear, some legendary "of the Warden" gear can be a good short-term solution and should not be too expensive in the trade broker, at least comparatively to the mythical gear. However you will probably need to invest some stat points in Dex or Agi to make up the difference which will reduce what you can pump into health.

I have not definitively proven this: but in my experience as long as the entire party uses Quick Attack, the only one Oogar attempts to skewer is your lead pet, which should be your tank. I do not think I have ever seen my dps get targeted with that attack until after the tank goes down or I accidentally left them sitting in the middle position. So you probably only need to focus the points on your tank.

Another suggestion is that he seems to perform his Aimed Shot on every 5th turn, so you can use the other party members to soak some of his normal hits in-between to help distribute the damage more evenly. Even a glass cannon can take two or three of his normal hits. But just make sure you swap your tank back into the lead position before the start of the 4th turn. If he has it Aim buff up with one of the other pets in the center position they are not likely to survive even if you use Quick Attack.

That is about all the help I can suggest for this fight...
Best of luck everyone!
