This little Purebred Festive Nephini needs a name.

Hi!

Her mother's name is "Ghost Of Christmas Pest" (a pun, since Nephinies have insectlike wings and antennae). My only other Festive Nephini is named "Snapdragonfly," another play on words based on the old Yuletide game snapdragon (because Nephinies kind of look like little dragons, as well as a bit like insects).

So, I need a play-on-words name for the new little girl. Base it on any wintertime holiday and/or any aspect of Nephinies in general or this girl in particular. The game is over when someone suggests the name that I decide to give the pet. (It is okay to suggest masculine names, since I am probably going to genderswap either this baby or Snapdragonfly.)

The first person to suggest the name that I use for this baby wins a Perfume of Themed Attraction--

Remember, the Spring Festival is coming! Let the naming commence!

I am copying Nature and am linking insects with flowers. So, like snapdragonfly is a play on insect and flower, so is

Ladybird of Paradise

and

Bumblebee Balm

Hopper Hops

Either of those names may work with a literal snapdragonfly theme.

Dauntlessadder, I get how your suggestion connects to the baby's mother, but I'm not sure how it connects to the baby. I know it ruins a play on words to explain it, but would you explain it to me?

Sapphire, Katelynn, and Amarok, same sort of thing. You may have created a great name, but I don't get it yet.

Remember, I'm looking for a name that's (1) a play on words and (2) connects to the pet in some way, either to her Theme, one or more of her traits, or something. I'd prefer a connection to her Festive Theme, but I don't insist on it.

Pure, a name in a foreign language isn't a play on words. A play on words, or pun, is when a phrase or joke contains a double meaning.

I realize a number of Sylestians don't speak English as their first language, so I shall try to explain. If you already "get" me, skip this part.

Snapdragon is a game traditionally played on either Christmas Eve or Twelfth Night. A dragonfly is an insect, but it kind of sounds like it could be a dragon the size of a fly, or a half-dragon half-insect, or something like that. A Nephini is a bit like a tiny dragon or a dragon with some insect traits. So you smush the words "snapdragon" (Christmas game) and "dragonfly" (sort-of a Nephini) together, and you get "Snapdragonfly," a "Christmas game Nephini," which is a play on words and suits a Festive Nephini perfectly.

The Ghost Of Christmas Past is a character from ******ens's famous Christmas story "A Christmas Carol." A pest is something that bothers a person; bugs are often pests. Nephinies are small, have antennae, and have wings, just like a lot of bugs do. So (here's the play on words), replace "past" with "pest," and you get "Ghost of Christmas Pest," that is, a "Christmas story character who is like a bug," which again suits a Festive Nephini.

I hope this helps. I would give more examples, but I can't think of any, which is why I'm running this contest. Here are examples of some more Christmas puns--

http://www.abubillamusic.com/2009/the-12-puns-of-christmas-eve/

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use any of these puns to create a name for my Nephini baby, but maybe someone else will figure out a way!

Also, remember you don't have to create a specifically Christmas play on words. Anything that fits the idea of "festive" works (Christmas Eve, Dies Natalis Sol Invictus, Yule, New Year's, Kwanzaa, Hogmanay, Twelfth Night, Krampusnacht, Winter Solstice, Saint Nicholas's Day, Saint Stephen's Day, Yalda, Boxing Day, Modraniht, Hogswatchnight, Saturnalia, Festivus). (Probably not to Hanukkah, because its colors are blue, silver, and white.)

Nephie Christmas! (From Merry Christmas)

Christmas Wings (From Christmas Wreath)

Mistleflow (From Mistletoe)

Fruitphini/Fruitfini (from Fruitcake; I was going with Fruitfly (cuz fruitflies, flying nephini, idk orz) but opted for something less bug-like)

I tried my best LOL
