I'm in a mood to rant a little about Sylvorpa traits. Since I've done nothing but breed Sylvorpas for a few years, I've noticed a few things. And I was wondering if other people feel the same! Feel free to post opinions.

First. The super versatile traits. Many of my designs incorporate the same traits (though, to date, I don't think any of my 6Vs are exactly alike), and that's because I think they are flexible and unobtrusive enough to look good with almost anything. For example, G2 Water Sprite. Matches everything. It's taken me a while to come to love it, but now I can't get enough. Iridescence, on the other hand, has always been a favorite. It doesn't cover anything...it's not overwhelming...it just kind of makes everything sparkly! What's not to love? Also, M1 Seashells. Slap it on everything.

Second. The underrated traits. My newest trick has been to hide Foxface Rabbitfish under Saltwater Betta, leaving only the rump spot visible. Foxface Rabbitfish is not a very desireable trait, and it can be hard to mix with other traits...but the combination of the two can be quite handsome! In fact, I bet you can't even tell the female below has a visible G2. By finding these complimentary pairings, especially with hard-to-work-with traits, I can breed a less cluttered, more beautiful 6V seamonkey*.


Last. The ugly traits. Sigh. Poor, poor ugly* traits... Leafy Seadragon Head Fins, I'm looking at you, buddy. Sad, bald wittle heads. The worst trait in the Sylvorpa's whole set, if you ask me. They look like sparse, deformed antennae, and I cannot wait for the day when they might get retooled or removed. >.< Frawn's second place prize for wince-worthy trait goes to G2 Amazonian. Though it shares a name with G1 Amazonian, the two traits definitely do not go together...which is what I find to be the biggest let-down. We have Koi and Koi, Spark Stripes and Spark Stripes, Clownfish and Clownfish, etc...why don't the Amazonian traits match? Grrr.

Selling offspring of these pairs for 100k per. Infertile.

Second, I have done a stable cleanlut and set many Themed Vorpas for sale. Most are Mother Of Pearl from a previous Summer Festival.

Finally, I am looking to sell the castoff Kismets in my hatchery. These are not 4v, but most are 3-2v and ave significantly lower prices.

Leafy Seadragon Head Fins just needs more fins.

Also, I used to like Fanned Head Fins, but after the Sylvorpa revamp, they no longer looked good on the males--the fins need to be larger and more spreading. Same goes for Mystic Head Fins.

I don't like Saltwater Betta on most color schemes. Too often, the pet with Saltwater Betta looks like it "died" during the first five seconds of a paintball battle.
