Umeboshi

Umeboshi was always so sweet and caring, always stayed by your side and loved you, almost like she was your right arm! But as you gained more pets you realized how attached to you she was... She wouldn't let anyone near you, protective and violent she wounded all who dared to even look at you, and if they approuched you... Lets just say you don't have many other friends due to her....

Look at this adorable colt. All he appears to do is gallop and frisk through the meadows of his pasture in play, but is that what he's really doing? Or is he working out, pumping blood through his evil veins (as advertised on his neck) so that he can overtake his master and become the stallion of all?

Erin has always been a little darling, ever since she was young she's been kind and helpful to everyone she meets. None who know her have a bad word to say about her. The only problem she has is her bad luck. Every now and then a friend will have an accident. Sometimes some lost jewelry, sometimes a fall, , sometimes a sudden case of food poisoning. It seems like a curse must have been placed upon her for such repeated misfortune. If she sometimes seems a little uncaring and cold at the funerals, It's just the shock of yet another loss. And if she recovers a little quickly, she's only trying to cope with her grief. After all it's only a little more time until she has to attend another funeral. Its lucky she has so many friends to help her through these hard times.

Rainbow

His gems are pretty, aren't they? How do they get that colour, anyway? Rainbow won't tell you. He is very quiet as he stares at everything with his crimson eyes. You don't mind too much; rainbow is one of the gentlest and most loyal pets in your stable. Funny that. You go to give rainbow a cuddle and you can hear a strange noise coming from inside the gems. It sounds like a ... tapping? You curiously touch the floating gem above the ears and it zaps you! Rainbow regards you with an eerie smile.

Later that night you awake feeling lethargic and too weak to move. Rainbow enters the room and you can see through blurred vision that his gems are glowing brighter than ever before. He sits with you and silently watches as you take your last breath.

Oops, it appears we both did Erin's pet at the same time. Here's yours:

Abby

It is a well known fact that Lunemaras have telepathy. These creatures work in highly complex hives; and telepathy is just a natural adaptation to colony living. Recently you've noticed that some of your favourite pets have started to go missing. Actually, It's gotten to the point where the only pets you have are now lunemaras. You managed to track the missing animals all the way to the pound. When you asked about it to the store owner, she did confirm it was you that released all the pets.

Then you put two and two together. Mind control? You confront your lunemaras and this is when things get nasty. Suddenly, they all start swarming and then they attack you. Defenseless, you fall to the ground and they rip you to shreds.

Nebulus
this is a kind of long one, so bear with me

No one can resist those gorgeous wisps of starlight, or beautiful, silky feathers, or the armor he wears. After all, the gems are so finely cut and shiny. It's a wonder where he got them, although he shows no indication to their origin.

He was the pride of your stable, and needed one last crowning feature. One day, you gave him a special armor of a sort - for decoration. However, there were no gems set into the empty sockets. At the time it didn't bother you that much. You could always pay a jeweler to set some in. So, that night, you simply went to sleep.

You woke up in the morning. All appeared to be normal, so you went to the stables to feed your pets. However, that particular morning, one of the Bulboris was missing - one with beautiful, iridescent green gemstones. You figured she must have escaped into the hatchery - you would check there later. This bulbori was loyal and would never try to escape the stable, but she also liked the warmth of the hatchery.

As you moved along feeding, a faint sparkle caught your eye. It was Nebulus, or, rather, Nebulus' armor. You caught your breath as the nytekrie stared into your eyes, a faint glimmer behind them. All the other Sylesti had left - they were unusually skittish. Your face paled and your breathing became shallow. You couldn't believe what you saw. His once beautiful, light yellow feathers were a light mulberry - the color of dried blood on fur or feathers. His talons were crusted with it. But the most shocking feature was his armor.

Set into Nebulus' armor were glittering green gems.

Ahh, dear Lacey. Her appearance is of a sweet angel, but that's just what she needs you to feel. The talismans on her body trap bad dreams of the people she favors, but if a talisman breaks the dream will become a living nightmare for the person it breaks nearest to.

She's been known to use her innocent appearance to lure people and sylestis in, only to have them step on a carefully placed talisman.

(I'm not the storytelling type, sorry!)

Peachwing
another long/creepy/scary/thriller/horror one!!

Little Peachwing - the sweetheart of the stables. Everyone loves her; she's always been so gentle and caring, especially to the young cubs of the hatchery. She'd always spend time around them, whether keeping watch while you were gone, or to comfort them at night. Which was a good thing - the cubs were often adventurous, and some would wander out. Unfortunately, most didn't return.

At one point, you had lost three cubs that month - all had been searched for, none of them found - so you decided to stake out at the hatchery to figure out exactly how they escaped. You waited for a while, watching from afar, but all the cubs appeared to be asleep.

To your surprise, you saw Peachwing enter the hatchery. She woke up one of the cubs, a sweet baby lupora, and gently nudged him to a different part of the hatchery - one concealed by shadows. You were surprised, but reminded yourself that it was a hot night - the cub had looked slightly uncomfortable, so she was probably rotating him to the shadows.

Peachwing didn't return. Frowning, you slowly began to walk towards the obscured area, when you felt something crack beneath your shoes. Looking down, in the darkness you felt something dry and brittle, splintered at one end and curved at the other. You felt your heartbeat grow louder at the realization of exactly what it was. Looking up, you saw that Peachwing had returned.

You only had a few moments to wonder exactly how her paws got that gorgeous russet color.

Minuteleaf
She is a devil in Prada, a reaper under beauty. She may seem sweet and innocent but beneath the depths of her flirtatious eyes is a need for sacrifice. She leads unsuspecting males who become infatuated with her up to the tallest mountain peak of her lovely tropical island home. There she tricks them and her true colors show through. Trapping them in bindings of roots and vines through shaman powers given to her by her ancestors, she chants an incantation before tossing the poor soul into the mouth of the volcano, feeding her goddesses their demand for blood and in turn allowing her immortality to last, her shaman powers to grow stronger, and her beauty to never fade....

Strawberry (I may have been inspired '^.^)

Each new moon homes all over Sylestia bar their doors and lock their windows, warning children never to leave the safety of their rooms and to hide away from the angel that comes lure them to their graves. For Strawberry is a Nephini of almost unparalled beauty. No matter how many years pass she remains unchanged, as though her very being is molded from fine china. Her perfect beauty entices many into her clutches and never reveales hints of the depravity that she has lowered herself to until it is too late.

As a child, Strawberry was never the most attractive of her peers. Her scales were dull and lifeless, and her wings were frail and limp. With her weak constitution there were few children who would play with her and she was inevitably left with only herself as company.

As she grew older she focused entirely on intellectual arts; she was well read, her deft fingers could coax etherial music out of the most stubborn of instruments, and her voice danced upon the winds in the most delightful song. However the years had done nothing for her physical beauty, and despite her gifts, she could not find a mate who would see herself for her.

A few years passed, and there again came the time where a great number of potential mates arrived in the fields that Strawberry called home. Among them was a Nephini of unparalled grace, whose handsome features caught the attention of all who entered his prescence. Strawberry for all she had given up hope, fell in love.

Accustomed to the negative reaction she had always garnered from her apperance, Strawberry fell to the talents she had cultivated over the years. Donning a veil, she sung songs of love lost and battles won, of great journeys and treasures hidden below the waves. She played great ballards and composed music in his honour and, slowly but surely he began to fall in love.

It was not to be. A few days before the handsome Nephini was to make his decision, a young child filled with youthful cruelty, dared him to look under Strawberry's veil. Unwilling to back down from a challenge the handsome Nephini did as he was asked and, on discovering the visage that lay beneath the silken mask recoiled with such horror that Strawberry awoke. In despair at his reaction Strawberry fled into the forest, tears cascading down her face, blinding her vision.

For what seemed like hours she wept within a forest clearing, feeling as though her heart were to shatter into a thousand pieces in a moments breath, when out of the darkness an elderly Faelora appeared. The elderly Faelora, whose coat was so faded that it looked as though it were made of cobwebs, sank to the ground before Strawberry, and asked her what made her weep as though the world were ending. On hearing her tale the elderly Faelora appeared overcome with sorrow for Strawberry's plight and hastened to tell a story of her own. A story that, should it be believed, lead to a beauty so great, it would cause the stars themselves to feel envy. However the tale came with a warning. The elderly Faelora warned that with this beauty came a price, a debt that had to be payed to the spirits every time the moon was new.

Strawberry was overjoyed to finally have a solution to her woes. Despite the elderly Faelora's warnings about others who had traveled the same path, she set out to discover the secret to eternal beauty. Using the knowledge she had gained from the countless books she had read, she soon discovered the mountain spring from the elderly Faelora's tale and drank deeply from the crystal waters. Watching her ghastly reflection fade and be replaced by a visage of the most beautiful Nephini she had ever seen, Strawberry lept up and, dancing with delight, flew back over the mountains and the forest to return to the love she knew was waiting. Never noticing that her reflection had remained in the mountain spring.

On her arrival at the fields she instantly spotted the handsome Nephini, surrounded by his admirers, and to her horror realised that her journey had taken too long, for he had already chosen his mate. Overcome with grief at her loss, and anger at the one who dared to steal her love away, despite what she had been through. She wished bitterly for revenge.

Again donning her veil she approached the happy couple, exclaiming that, whilst she was happy for their future together, she feared she would never again feel anything but sorrow if she could not stay by the handsome Nephini's side. Taking pity upon her, the couple allowed her to depart with them. Taking her on as a teacher and maid for the children they now had.

One moon cycle passed, and Strawberry seemed to have come to terms with her loss. The couples children loved her and she remained gentle with them despite their faults. However this peace was not to last. The day after the new moon, the household was awoken to a scene of horror. The couples children, so full of life the day before, lay motionless in their nursery. Skin and muscle carefully peeled back so the bones could be removed, and folded gently in their beds. Terror burning within the couple they turned to Strawberry, swiftly realising the cause of the tragedy. Slowly lifting her veil, Strawberry smiled softly at the couple, delighting in the way the clear light of dawn played on the palor of their scales. Reaching forward as if to embrace them, Strawberry let a laugh escape her lips, letting it float freely in the air in a cruel mimicry of her seranades to the handsome Nephini so long ago. Allowing their screams to draw the attention of all those who would hear them.

For she was as eternal as her beauty, and with each coming of the new moon she would only become more eternal than before.
