Hello, all. We have made the following changes in regards to account security:

- Any player who has not logged into their account in roughly the past year will now be forced to use the Forgot Password feature upon logging into their account. This is due to us switching over to a more secure password hashing system. For awhile, we've been automatically switching players over to the new hash system when they logged in. However, for players who have not logged in, we can't do this. We have now expunged passwords hashed under the old system, so players will have to reset their password if we do not have an updated hashed password on record for their account.

- Players can now log into their accounts via their Email Address. This will eventually become the only way to log into an account. However, temporarily, players can opt to login using either their Username or their Email Address. The reason for this change is to further protect player accounts, as Usernames are public and thus anyone can easily obtain half of everyone's login information just by looking at existing accounts.

Hi Krin, with the usernames no longer being used for login information in the future, would users be able to have any nickname they want in the future without worrying about whether or not it's taken?

No, they will still have to be unique as they will still function the same as they do now. Many in-game systems rely on accounts having unique Usernames.

Ah, okay. That's unfortunate but understandable

Is there a way to set your own new password or does it have to be the one the game gives you? I can't tell you how many times I've had to change my password because the previously given one was something crazy like A2e27oE7Bfkx. I do have the password saved to my Google account but with new devices that I can't log into, for example, a school computer, I don't have access to that password store anymore so I have to change it.

Tried to login with my email after I saw this post and realized my email was a character too long for the login page to take. Just saying this in case others might be in the same boat.

There is, Account>Settings>Change Password.
