I am not sure how I feel about the color designation for these...

It's nice that they aren't just a static "this trait will only ever be these colors" but they still completely remove the gem color designation from C3. Can't they still make use of the base gem color instead? Like Iridescent Gems?

When Bulbori are revamped, their gems will no longer be pulling from a base color, such as C3. Additionally, since G2 is basically not utilized as is, it really doesn't hurt anything to allow players to use it for these new Genes and then they can allocate C3 towards the other things that C3 accents, like body Genes or Mutation parts.

Yeah but the revamp is still ages away.

Right now it's just... awful.

I'm breeding Ancient Mosaics and the gems are yellow.

With these traits is all... dark and murky and horrible.

I don't want the new traits because it ruins the intended colors of the gems.

Isn't it better to adjust for distant future changes in the future so it doesn't negatively impact things now..?

(Going to edit to say that I love the idea of the bulbs using G2 for their gems for the revamp. But it just doesn't work for these traits as-is right now because all the no-trait gems are still using C3.)

Well, with like ~80 Themed Pets, it's impossible for any option to work for all of them. Some will do better utilizing C3 while others will do better utilizing GC2/AC1.

Even still, G2 has always been just for their Gems, obviously. So it shouldn't be all that wild that a new G2 utilizes the G2 color.

None the less, I'll discuss it with Faiona and see if we want to change the allocation.

I mean, I get that it might not work perfectly with all of the themes, but I can almost guarantee you that EVERY Bulbori theme's G2 works with C3, G2, and EC for one reason.

Iridescent Gems.

That is literally the only trait designers have had to work with when determining what to do with G2 since everything else has been statically colored, or it's just C3 (which is a significant part of Iridescent Gems.)

And every single Bulbori theme has been designed with a C3 that works with the C1 and C2 because it IS the gem color. For all but like, 3 it's a matter of "this is my color pop against the fur when the pet has 0 traits to make it look prettier."

It'd be like saying "okay you wanted red gems with a yellow highlight when traited, but now it's just going to BE yellow and your red is all gone!"

We're looking into some adjustments. Stay tuned.
