We are allowed to draw patterns/designs on things, but are we allowed to draw things that have a distinct contour or shape? For example, I want to add some posters to the castle spires without altering the original lineart - is that acceptable?

Hm. Kind of hard to say. Definitely no if the posters have any sort of physical shape. But I suppose probably okay if they appear spray painted onto the already existing castle.

That would be something added with lineart, as they are a physical thing that'd have to be drawn into the canvas. So, that wouldn't be allowed, no.

Can we add stars to the sky and fruit on the trees, if they're just dots with no detail/shape?

Here's my submission. (I had planned to color it with art supplies, but we just moved so yeah... Next year! :-)

Yep! That's totally allowed. That's considered painting.
