Just a thread for me to put in any non-themed projects that I am currently working on or planning to work on.
Any and all feedback is welcome - thoughts, compliments, criticism, anything!
It's always nice to have other perspectives on designs, especially if I think something looks nice but in reality it might not be the most appealing design ^-^ You can PM or post in the thread, I have no specific preference.

Hello, hello! Here are some critiques on your designs.
(of course, you don't need to follow them. feel free to change them to your liking)
original ------------ changed
for this one the design is very pretty, but the brown on the horns stands out a bit. if you like it, go for it! its not particularly bad, just seems slightly out of place. maybe dull it a bit. you can also make gene 2 slightly less red but otherwise its fine.
original ------------ changed
i was thinking that for this one the red was a bit too bright and the black a bit too dark. it looks a bit unnatural. changed a few things here and there.
idk, im not an expert. good luck with your prjects!

I can't really suggest any improvements, but I feel like pastel light feels a little too gray. (Also please ping me for the design contest)

Thank you for the suggestions!
I see what you mean about the horns, I'll soften them. Certain genes are supposed to have a reddish tint because I'm trying to simulate the colour of gold, which usually has red/orange undertones.
For the second one, for the sharp contrast is intentional. I'm trying to create the image of a pile of black coal and char (black and grey) with embers glowing from the cracks in between (the saturated and bright oranges).

Hmm, I do see that it's a bit grey. Would you suggest I saturate all the colours, or just a select few? I'm thinking of maybe making the base colours (EC, C1, C2, C3) more vibrant.
And another thing- by design contest, do you mean for the astral wanderer ryo one?

Yeah! For the design, maybe saturate some colors so that the pastel ones stand through more?

Thanks for the feedback ^-^ I've made some changes, although I'm still unsure whether I want to keep the old one or entirely change the design to the new one, so I'll have both of them for the moment.

Hi!! Here's my somewhat rushed suggestions before work <33
With your first design I suggest brightening up the g2 to around FFC973, this color matches the orbs/eyes more and helps tie it together better- as well as upping the contrast which in my opinion is usually a plus. You could maybe make the c2 a tad darker to 38454D, but this just helps the toes stand out a tad more and isn't a change I think is like, super needed just a suggestion for if you wanted to consider some other ideas :)
For your burning coal design my only suggestion is to make the eyes a yellow-orange around FFBE4F, this helps the eyes stand out more and is a nice pop against all the other more red oranges. Other then that this is a very solid design as well!
