They reach the nursery safely, Ravenkit turning and looking up at Reedpaw, a sadness shwing in her eyes. "Why is Badgeheart sad?"

Rosewing
Rosewing purred happily just hearing the she-cat thought they'd be cute together. "I'm sure you'll have kits one day. And hopefully the clan will be in a better situation by then." Rosewing herself wanted kits eventually, she just couldn't let herself now, not till the famine was over, just the thought of losing any hurt her. "But I think you and Thornfur would make a nice pair." She said to Puddlestep. She yawned closing her eyes as she did so. "When do you think we'll go hunting?" She thought wanting to know before she ended up falling asleep from laying it the warmth of the sun.
Thornfur
Thornfur nodded thinking about who he would take. "Who do you think would be an ideal warrior for the journey?" He slowed hearing his apprentices paw steps behind him. he flicked with his tail for Hawthornpaw to come forward. He scented the air taking in a prey aroma. The certain prey he scented was a vole, something he hadn't scented around here in a good moon or two this close to camp. It smelled fresh but not abundant. "Hawthorn, do you smell that prey scent? Do you know what it is? You should, but I want to know if you remember." He said in a quiter tone, slowing his pace and softening his steps. He flicked his ears up trying to listen for the vole to make sure it's still around. It was, to their left a little ways away he could hear it rustling under a leaf.
Fangpaw
Fangpaw had a small smile hidden as he put a light layer of dirt over his minnows to pick up later. Shortly after he caught back up with his mentor taking what seemed like a challenge and following Sorroweyes into the body of water. At first he wasn't so sure but there wasn't any backing down now as he was already in. He slowly followed, not as confident as the older tom who had done this many more times then him. He thought he had the hang of it but hit a current with slippery rocks under his paws and started to slip under. He instantly unsheathed his claws grabbing for rocks, pebbles, anything really. Quickly he retreated to the bank not as happy as he was before. He was upset he more than likely scared away any fish he thought he could've caught and made a fool of himself in the process. He shook himself off and started grooming his fur, trying to get it to lay down. He took a deep breath and moved a little farther down ready to retry on the bank as he clearly wasn't ready to go where his mentor was.
(Sorry for the late response, been a busy day and I don't want to give it a half hearted response.)

Mooneyes
She grey she-cat listened thoughtfully in on their conversation over toms. Kits would be lovely, but she figured she would need to keep the current cats healthy before she could take care of several bouncing furballs. "I'm not sure if any toms would take me," Mooneyes mused. "I'm a bit of a pawful to say the least," she purred. If you couldn't poke fun at yourself, who could? "I prefer things a bit on the riskier side."
Sunspot
"Ah, thank you," he replied a little strained, itching a little harder at the one ear. "The twolegs would just use a funny-smelling soap." The ginger tom put his foot down, shaking his head roughly. "And force us to take a pill that tastes absolutely horrendous." Sunspot usually warned Mooneyes against using twoleg words, ones that always made the cats look at them like they had flowers growing out of their ears. But Sunspot couldn't really think of what else to call them, since there was nothing like it in the forest.

~ HawthornPaw ~
HawthornPaw crept closer, opening his mouth to drink in the scent, "A vole..?" he said, seeming to question himself. "I haven't seen one for moons!" he said, flicking his tail excitedly.

Puddlestep
The she cat rolled onto her paws and shook herself. Glancing at Mooneyes with a knowing look she finally spoke. "We should go now, Starclan knows how long it takes to find a measly mouse these days."
Witheredstar
"Whoever you'd work best with," he said quietly. Witheredstar watched in both amusement and curiosity as Thornfur interacted with his apprentice. He himself had always wanted one but never got the chance to before the famine hit and the clan lost the majority of their young and old.
Sorroweyes
Sorroweyes had turned around in a panic when he realized the apprentice had gone under for a few seconds but was relieved to find that he had dragged himself out of the river. "Are you okay Fangpaw? I should've warned you that the current is a bit strong." Concern laced his voice, he would hate to have had his apprentice harmed or even worse dead. It would've killed him. He slowly moved towards the middle again, still waiting for a reply and sat down, waiting for the minnows to get used to his presence.

Reedpaw
Reedpaw hesitated, she didn't know exactly why he was sad as Ravenkit had phrased it.
" I think he's sad because he harbors alot of pain from his past. I've never asked what happened and its not my place to, I wouldn't want to stir anything up. "
Reedpaw replied looking at Ravenkit solemnly.
" Don't go ask him about it ok? " her light green eyes conveyed her seriousness. She knew personally how talking about your past can make you feel, as she had been abandoned by her mother when she was a kit.

Rosewing
"I'm sure there's at least one tom here who would love to call you their mate." She hesitated, "Or she-cat. You never know." Rosewing stood up, slowly stretching out, clawing at the ground as she did so. "Sounds good to me. I'm definitely ready for a good hunt." She said with hope that it really would be a good hunt.
Thornfur
"Correct." He said to Hawthornpaw. "Would you like to try and catch it?" He said gently nudging the younger tom encouragingly. He hoped his apprentice be able to catch the small creature so he could impress his leader how well his young apprentice was at hunting.
Fangpaw
Fangpaw quickly groomed his fur once more before replying to his mentor. "I'm fine." He said bluntly still a bit upset about the whole situation that had just happened. The young white tom sat still waiting for the minnows to come back. He was now determined to catch these minnows. As they slowly swam back he unsheathed his claws waiting and ready to catch more. He quickly clawed three smaller minnows this time, swooping them to land quicker and making sure they weren't flopping everywhere. He had a small smile, satisfied he didn't lose one this time.
