"Oh great. Sphinxes and riddles." She inhaled sharply and tried to prepare her mind for the riddles.

The Sphinxes turn to you when you approach.
"We are trying to see which of us will have the honor of owning this path. We tried to see who had the best riddles, but we can't figure it out because we'd obviously say that puts us the best. Thank goodness you came at this time. You can settle this. We'll both do our hardest riddle and you will figure it out." One says, her tail whipping around angrily.
Azrail shrinks away from the Sphinxes.
"Bring it on." Zach says.
"You go first." The first says to the other. The second one clears her throat.
"What is long and slim, works in light; has but one eye, and an awful bite?" The second one says before waving a paw at the first one as if showing everyone that the first now has the stage.
"I cannot be burned in fire or drowned in water. What am I?" The first says. Then both Sphinxes sat down and looks to you expectantly.

Selene stayed quiet for a minute before answering the two. "The first riddle's answer is a needle. The second would be ice." She looked confident in her answers as she stared at the two sphinxes.

"Now what will we do? We still don't know which of us is better!" The first mourns as the two of them let you past.
"Why don't you both guard this path?" Zach suggests before walking past them, Azrail at his heels.

"He's not wrong. That would be the best answer." She added while walking past the sphinxes.

"No one can get past the two of us." The first crows, holding out her paw. The second high fives it(high paws it or whatever).
You seem to be getting close to the Labyrinth.
"So, what does the Labyrinth look like?" Azrail asks.
" on the outside or the inside? Because on the inside, it hardly matters what it looks like when your running away from death. When the doors close with the echoing boom, you get this uncontrolled feeling that there is no hope left. On the outside... Well, no one really knows. It's under the ground. The opening - or the original opening since there is probably another now with the monsters escaping and all - juts out of the ground like teeth about to swallow you hole. The doors close and it looks like a hill with doors built into it, as innocent as can be. " Zach describes.
Azrail shudders, "That doesn't sound like fun." Zach laughs.
"Inside the Labyrinth, it really isn't." Zach agrees.
Suddenly, the floor gives out beneath you. Zach reacts a little too slowly, and you find yourself tumbling into oblivion, wind whistling past. When you land on the ground, the opening above you seems miles away - not that it really is, it's probably just three stories up...
You're back in the Labyrinth.

Her eyes widened and she felt her heart rate increase. "No. We're back. I don't like this at all."

Azrail pokes his head into where the ground had given out. "Hullo?" His voice echoes off the walls.
Zach gets to his feet, trying to keep his balance on the mound of rubble around you. One of his wings were bent the wrong way from his rough landing. "Back away from the edge, Azrail. I don't want you falling in." Azrail hesitates before slowly retreating from the edge.
"How can I help?" The red panda asks.
The Labyrinth was surprisingly quiet and still. Zach couldn't shake the feeling that the Labyrinth was just waiting to pounce at an unsuspecting time.

She felt some warm blood on one side of her head. She slowly got up. "I don't think anything will attack us. It seems like every monster is outside. The only one who might would be Oran, the leader of the labyrinth." Black dots started crowding her eyes and her limbs went numb.

"Who ever knows where Oran is?" Zach wonders aloud, searching inside his pack. He gets out the bandages and his water canteen. "This might sting." Zach warns, tilting your face to the side so that he could pour some of the water in the sound to try and clean it the best he could.
